Bucky’s antics
Bucky’s antics and Steve annoyance about them lead to more than just a fluffy reveal of the ugly hoodies the brown-haired man got for you.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader x Steve Rogers
Wordcount: 3.436 Words
Warnings/Tags: established relationship, poly relationship, ugly sweaters, fluff, Bucky and his antics, smut [teasing, fingering, oral (male!rec), cum eating, unprotected p in v], aftercare, petnames [baby doll, princess]
Authors Note: This was supposed to be a Drabble, but somehow Steve decided how it’s going after a while and Bucky joined. It’s dedicated to my Queen of Stucky @mercurial-chuckles who requested it. Hope you like it. Divider made by me.

Steve rolls his eyes while he lets out a low groan. His blue eyes focused on your other boyfriend, who sits on the windowsill and smirks at the blonde man. He wears only shorts and one of his tight shirts that makes his muscles more visible and flex with every one of his movements. It’s a bit like Steve's, and you wonder since when Bucky’s been wearing such tight shirts.
“You can’t just…” Steve shakes his head, leaning back on the couch while he runs his fingers through his blond hair. He inhales deeply, trying to calm himself down before he looks over at you.
You’re sitting at the other end of the couch, a blanket tightly wrapped around you and a smile across your face. Your eyes are glistening in amusement while you watch your boyfriends argue about something once again.
It's nothing bad, just Steve being tired of Bucky’s antics and Bucky being even more silly to annoy the blond man. And you can't help but feel amused by their little arguments about it.
“Calm down, Stevie boy,” Bucky says with a grin, pouting softly while he leans forward. His feet rest against the couch while he rests his arms on his knee. “I got these, and you’re gonna wear them. If not for me. You will do it for our princess.”
“I will not wear that,” Steve grumbles and crosses his arms over his chest. His arm muscles flex, and you choke on your own spit when his veins bulge out from under his skin.
Both of your men immediately turn their faces to you, a look of concern written over them. You blush, looking down with a shy smile before you try to muffle your coughing behind your hand.
“Doll, do you need water?” Bucky asks, ready to get up, but you shake your head. He nods slowly, watching you intently before he leans back again. “You sure? I don’t mind getting you a glass of water, you know that.”
You giggle softly and nod. Of course, you do. When you started dating them, it was a new thing to you, to be cared for and loved that much, and from two people at the same time. Feeling like a burden or like you’re annoying them, they always assured you that you’re neither the one nor doing the other. And at some point you got used to their protectiveness and care for you.
“I’m sure, but thank you. Just choked a bit on my spit,” you confess. Bucky nods, keeping an eye on you before he turns his head back to Steve with a wide grin. His blue eyes are glistening playfully, and you watch the scene in anticipation of what Bucky got that makes Steve so grumpy.
Bucky pulls out a bag; it’s big, and it’s stuffed full. You smirk, while Steve rolls his eyes with a groan. He leans back further, sliding down the couch to make himself smaller. “Not gonna wear that.”
“Is it a Santa costume? Naughty Santa?” You blurt out, and both of your men start laughing softly. Steve’s grumpy mood immediately changed into a better one. “Damn…”
“You want us as naughty Santa? Stevie, or me, or are you such a needy little girl for us and need two naughty Santas?" Bucky asks, his head tilting and his voice lowering. Goosebumps erupt on your skin, and you shiver at the tone in his voice, the challenging edge and the low needy groan that follows his words.
You whimper, pulling the blanket tighter around you to hide the way you clench your thighs. But your boyfriends know you damn well, knowing every little move you’re doing.
Steve reaches out, his calloused hand reaching underneath the blanket around you and grasping your ankle tightly. With a smirk he pulls at your leg; you shriek and try to wiggle your feet out of his grip, but he's stronger. With a bit of force, Steve causes you to slide over the soft fabric of the couch, and you end up with your lower half on his lap while your back is still on the couch.
His fingers trailing from your knee up your thighs, then back down before he moves them back up. You squirm underneath his soft touches, trying to pull back, but Steve places his other hand on your knees and keeps you in place.
“Where do you want to go, princess?” He asks, his voice lower, and you whimper softly. More slick is gushing out of you, your panties already soaked in your slick.
You turn your head toward Bucky, who’s grinning at you. With pleading eyes, you pout softly, hoping he will help you to reveal whatever he bought, but he only shakes his head and rubs his hand over his crotch with a low moan escaping his lips.
“Buckyyy, please,” you whine, feeling Steve’s thick fingers moving further up to your soaked panties. Bucky chuckles, tilting his head like he’s having a question. And he has, silently asking you what you want, because he knows that this cute little blush will creep onto your cheeks again. “You wanted to show us what you got. Now Steve's naughty.”
“Steve is naughty? Who was the one suggesting we get naughty Santa costumes, baby doll?” Bucky asks, shifting so he could spread his legs further and reveal his hardened cock in his pants to you.
He's just turning your words however he wants it, playing with your little outburst. It’s not your fault these two super soldiers turned your thoughts naughty; it’s also not your fault that they look so fucking handsome and delicious. But they pretend you’re the naughty one, while they both look like porn stars.
“That’s mean; I didn’t suggest them! I just thought you got some,” you pout, shivering when you feel Steve’s thick fingers sliding over your covered cunt. His eyes are focused on your face while he slowly rubs his fingers up and down slowly. A soft moan escapes your lips, and you look back at the blond one. “Stevie, oh, fuck!”
“Language, princess,” Steve growls, pressing down on your clit. A jolt of electricity shoots through your veins, and you cry out, pleasure growing in your lower stomach. You move your hips against him, Steve's finger still pressing down on your sensitive bundle of nerves.
“Please, Stevie,” you whimper, thrusting your hips up, but Steve pulls away. You groan in frustration; your pussy is throbbing, and your boyfriend decides to tease you while the other enjoys watching the teasing. “You both are idio—”
Steve slaps your thigh harshly, his eyes narrowing. “Excuse me, princess, I don’t think I heard right, huh?” He watches you a moment longer before he looks at Bucky and smirks. “Get your pretty ass over here, Buck.”
Bucky chuckles, rolling his eyes, but gets up and walks slowly closer. They only need to share some glances and know what the other is thinking. Excitement is growing inside of you, and you shiver slightly, looking back and forth between your boyfriends.
The brown-haired man chuckles low in his throat when he notices your widened eyes. The bulge in his pants growing even more, you swallow thickly to not let them see the saliva dribbling out of the corner of your mouth.
He leans forward, gripping both of your wrists and pushing them above your head into the softness of the couch. “Gonna be good for us, naughty girl?”
You nod, whimpering softly. You try to free your hands to touch Bucky, but he keeps his grip firm around your wrists. A soft pout forms on your lips once more, but he shakes his head and chuckles.
Steve moves, putting one leg on the backrest of the couch while he leaves the other on the couch. He shifts and sits up on his knees, getting in between your legs with a wide grin on his plump lips. “Ready to take what you asked for, princess?”
You nod your head, feeling his hard cock pressing against you when he thrusts his hips against yours. A soft moan leaves your lips, the friction sending electricity through your body. “Please, Stevie. Fuck, please.”
“Think we need to stuff her mouth too, Buck,” Steve mumbles. Your eyes widen; you shouldn’t have said fuck; you know he doesn’t like it, but you couldn’t help it; it just slipped past your lips. But it’s also not that bad to have Bucky’s cock in your mouth; actually, you love his soft moans and groans when you suck him off.
Bucky's smirk is growing on his plump lips — of course it was in his and Steve’s plan already, but seeing your reaction makes his cock twitch in his pants. With one swift movement and only one hand, he pushes his sweatpants and boxers down his legs, stepping out of them.
His cock springs free, slapping against his shirt-covered belly. Pre-cum is dripping down the red, swollen tip of his dick. You intentionally slide your tongue over your lips, wetting them at the sight of his thick cock, of the prominent, perfect vein that’s running down his shaft.
“P-please, please,” you whimper, feeling the need to feel and taste your boyfriends. Bucky keeps his tight grip around your wrists while he gets on the couch next to you; he swings one leg over your torso. towering above you. His cock is only inches away from you, and wouldn't it stand so perfectly against his stomach you could lift your head and get him between your lips.
“Naughty, such a little slut. Drooling at the sight of my cock, huh?” His blue eyes are focused on you, taking in your expression to make sure you’re comfortable underneath him. Bucky then lets go of your wrists and takes off his shirt, throwing it on the ground as well. “What are you doing if you want me to stop, baby doll?”
“Tap your thigh,” you mumble. Bucky chuckles, grabbing your wrists again and pushing them down above your head. He leans a bit more over you, his muscular chest flexing, and you moan. Bucky raises an eyebrow, waiting for an answer to his question in that position now. “Squeezing your hands three times shortly one after another.”
“Good girl, now open up and let me feel that pretty mouth of yours around my cock,” he says. The praises cause more of the wetness to drip out of you. You do as he says, opening your mouth to let Bucky push his cock in. But he doesn’t; he only places the tip on your lips and grins.
Meanwhile, Steve undresses himself too, watching the two of you for a moment while he strokes his thick cock slowly in his big hand. He brings the tip of his dick to your pussy, still covered with your panties. Steve chuckles when your body jolts once he slaps the tip against your clit.
“Stevie!” You whine, arching your back as best as you can with Bucky on top of you. He’s still denying you his cock, except his tip. So you can still talk between the kitten licks on Bucky’s tip. You him at his musky taste, trying to get more of his cock, but once you lift your head, he pulls his hips backwards. “BUCK! Come on, please.”
Both of your men laugh softly, denying you their cocks. Steve brings both of his hands to your hips, his thumbs rubbing circles on your skin, closer and closer to your cunt. You whine, trying to press yourself further against him.
You shudder when you feel a cool breeze against your wetness, the noise of shattering fabric making you groan. Another out of panties destroyed by your super soldiers. It's only because they love shopping for underwear with you, so they destroy them until you have to get new underwear.
You open your mouth, ready to complain about it, but the moment your lips part, Bucky’s hips shoot forward, and he slides his cock down your tongue with one movement. The tip hits the back of your throat, and you gag around him, feeling his cock sliding further down your throat.
“Through your nose, baby doll. Take a deep breath; you’re doing good." Bucky pants, stilling his hips to give you a moment to adjust to his size. You try to do as he says, feeling his cock deep in your throat.
Steve keeps rubbing the tip of his cock up and down your slit, his hands pressing your hips into the couch. You squirm softly, stuffed with Bucky’s cock in your mouth but needy for Steve to fill you with his thick cock as well.
“Take your teeth away from Bucky's cock, princess,” Steve says as he lines up with your entrance. You try your best to listen to him. Bucky’s still not moving while you feel Steve’s thick cock pushing in slowly.
It’s such a stretch, and even though you had sex with both of them already, and even together, it’s still a tight fit. Moans and pants leave your lips, filling the room.
“Fuck…” Steve mutters under his breath as he pushes further into you. Your moans and Bucky’s movements are suddenly interrupted when that word falls off Steve’s lips. He doesn’t notice, pushing further into you and cursing quietly about how tight you are. “Shit, you’re so right, princess.”
“Guess I need to stuff someone else’s mouth with my cock too, Stevie,” Bucky chuckles, pulling his cock almost out of your mouth before thrusting back into the warmth. “Saying such dirty things.”
“I-what? I didn’t! What the-” Steve interrupts himself when you clench around his cock. He’s about to curse again, noticing what he just did. His cheeks heat up, but he growls frustrated, pushing into you until he bottoms out. You’re moaning loudly, sending vibrations through Bucky’s cock. His cock twitches, and he thrusts harder into your mouth. Steve smirks, loving the effect he has on the two of you with his cock in your cunt. “Can’t blame me for cursing when she’s so fuc— tight.”
Bucky agrees with his boyfriend, finding a slow pace to fuck your face while stopping every now and then in your throat to feel your swallowing around his thick length. Steve has a bit of a faster pace, his hips snapping against yours harshly while the tip of his cock kisses your cervix with every of his thrusts into you.
You’re a moaning mess, looking up at Bucky with teary eyes and drool dripping down your chin. Bucky’s cock and even his balls are coated in your saliva, and every time his fat balls slap against your chin, you hear the squelching sound that matches the one Steve causes when he thrusts into your tight pussy.
Steve runs his fingers over the soft skin of your belly, his hands still at your hips while he fucks you. He notices Bucky’s thrusts getting erratic and his breathing getting heavier. With that, Steve brings his thumb down on your clit, pressing softly until you whine around Bucky’s cock.
Your walls clench around Steve, your orgasm approaching, and you feel the coil in your stomach tighten with every of their movements. Bucky smiles, running his thumbs over your wrists to steady yourself. Steve keeps adding pressure on your clit, slowly starting to draw small circles and thrusting his cock deeper and harder into you to get you to come before one of them does.
They always do that; they make you come before one of them reaches their high. Or they would come with you, but never before you got the pleasure you deserve.
Bucky groans when you hollow your cheeks once more, your tongue twirling around his tip — that’s the thing you do. That’s THE thing.
Your walks clenching further around Steve when you feel Bucky’s dick twitching. It’s all so much pleasure, almost too much: your mouth, your pussy. You’re not even sure on what to concentrate, but Steve’s cock hitting all the right spots makes it hard to concentrate at all.
His thumb still on your clit, sending another jolt of pleasure through you. Your cunt clamping on him while your legs shake and your fingers dig into Bucky’s hands. You’re close, so damn close it only needs—
A particularly hard thrust against your sweet spot makes your pussy flutter and your juices gush out of you. Steve groans, even moans, when he feels your cunt hugging him tightly, sending him over the edge at the same time, just like Bucky.
While both of your men push their hips flush against you, you feel the aftershocks of your orgasm. Cum drops down your chin before you can swallow all of Bucky’s cum. He slowly pulls out of you, panting and sweaty.
He gets off of you, letting go of your hands before he pulls your upper body up and sits down on the couch. He immediately pulls you into his arms, Steve’s cock still deep inside of you, when he maneuvers your lower half and himself closer to Bucky.
“Such a good girl, doing so good,” Bucky praises, knowing it's what you need. When they both fuck you like that, you need them close, need to feel them until you come down completely from your orgasm. And both of them need it just as much.
You feel Steve’s cum flowing out of you, his cock softening and slipping out of you, causing you to whimper. It’s feeling so empty and cold without him inside of you that tears well up in your eyes.
Steve wipes the saliva and cum off your chin, kissing you softly before he lifts your legs and glides under them to sit down next to Bucky. The brown-haired one is holding you tightly against your chest, his fingers moving up and down your sides, caressing your skin softly.
“Such a good girl for us, baby doll. Taking us so good, know Steve’s dick is so warm, but he's getting sensitive, and it would be comfy with all his cum, huh?” Bucky coos, kissing the side of your neck. You can feel Bucky’s heartbeat slowing down to its normal pace, and you enjoy the warmth of his chest as much as you enjoy Steve’s strong and warm arms tightly wrapped around your legs while he leans against Bucky’s side.
“Buck’s right. You did so good for us, princess. So proud of you,” Steve murmurs. He’s stroking his fingers up and down your legs, massaging softly.
“What did you buy?” You ask after a moment of comfortable silence. Bucky chuckles, a low rumble in his chest, as you tilt your head back to look into his ocean blue eyes. Steve groans, and you giggle softly, leaning toward him to kiss his cheek. “So, no naughty Santa."
“No… no naughty Santa,” Steve replies with a soft smile on his lips. His eyes are filled with love and affection when he looks at you and Bucky. “No, more like ugly Santa.”
“YOU GOT UGLY SWEATER FOR US?” You shout excitedly, and your eyes widen when the corner of Bucky’s lips twitches and a grin forms on them. He nods, kissing your forehead softly.
“The ugliest,” he chuckles, leaning back and pulling you and Steve even closer.
“They have lights; they are in bright colors, and the printing looks like a four-year-old drew it,” Steve comments when he snuggles more into you and Bucky. Even though Steve hates them and Bucky got them to annoy him a bit, you love them, and you know they both will wear them; they would even do it when you go out. If you would ask them, they would do anything for you. “But before we can try them on, we have to clean the mess we just made here.”
You nod, refusing to let go of one of your boyfriends. They both chuckle, knowing they have to carry you, or else you would sit with them in there in an hour, cum dry and stuck to your skin. So Bucky carries you while Steve kisses you and cleans you, before both of them clean themselves, taking care that you get enough kisses and cuddles while they clean up. Only when it’s all clean does Bucky show you the sweaters he got, and you both manage to get Steve to take it on and take some photos while Steve demands a lot of kisses and cuddles. And of course, he gets both of it, lots of kisses and even more cuddles from you and Bucky for your sweater — Grinch Steve.

Weekly Recap | December 30th 2024-January 5th 2025
Welcome to 2025 everybody!! The year of #BuddieCanon!!!
Started working on my favourite fics of 2024 rec, I'm hoping to post it in the next week! And when I'm looking back, I always end up distracted on the way, which is the reason for the ungodly amount of re-read fics in this rec 😅
Little bit unconventional but I'm gonna rec some meta! The Buddie Vers-Switch Theory: a Meta-Analysis is really interesting!
Complete
just like coming home by tinygiantsam/ @watchyourbuck (S7, First Kiss | 1,5K | Teen): Buck and Eddie go on their first date. Eddie wears the 'good cologne.'
when the clock strikes midnight by tinygiantsam/ @watchyourbuck (Post-S8 Spec, Christmas | 4K | Teen): Future Buck looked at his watch, then at the clock on the wall, then back to him. “In about five minutes, Eddie’s gonna try to kiss you.” Buck’s heart skipped a beat, his throat drying from back to front. He wetted his lips in instinct. “What?” “And I’m gonna need you to kiss him back.” OR: on christmas night, buck is visited by what seems like the ghost of christmas future. he has a very particular request (that he cannot refuse).
every corner of this house is haunted by justhockey (NYE, Chris comes back from Texas, Getting Together | 4K | General): And now that love is everywhere, is in everything. It’s worn so deeply into the grooves of his skin that it’s changed the very structure of his fingerprint - is burrowed so deep inside of him that it has rewritten his DNA. His love for Eddie and for Christopher is carved into his bones - etched onto his heart like an epitaph: love lived here. Love left here.
Next in line by tinygiantsam/ @watchyourbuck (Getting Together, Post-S6 | 6K | Explicit): “Hold on,” he muttered, putting his finger up and shifting his weight from one foot to the other. “So you’ve been dating this man for six months, b-” Buck cut him off. “Yes.” “But,” Eddie continued, “he’s not your boyfriend?” “N-No.” Eddie’s frown deepened. He tried to keep it in; he really did. “Okay, well, does he want you or not? Because he’s holding up the fucking line!”
Let me give you my life by paleredheadinascifi (Post-S8S6: Confessions, Getting Together | 6K | Teen): “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I am. Fuck. I am freaking out,” he agrees, lifting his head to look at Buck helplessly. “You’re in my lap.” “I’m so extremely aware of that. You’re not wearing any pants,” Buck adds. A smile tugs at the corner of Eddie’s mouth. “I am also very aware of that.” Or, another take on what happened after the couch scene. Eddie *wants*. They're both brave about it.
a lighthouse in the fog by greenbergsays/ @greenbergsays (BT Break-Up, First Kiss | 7K | Teen): The one where Buck wakes up after surgery and realizes that Tommy doesn't meet his emotional needs. The break-up doesn't go quite like he expected.
It Still Gets Cold in Texas by jukoist/ @beforejuko (Post-S8A, Eddie moves to El Paso, Outsider POV, Getting Together | 9K | Mature): Cara Alvarez of the El Paso Fire Department knows exactly two things about her new coworker Eddie Diaz. One: Diaz has a husband named 'Buck', who he left back in LA. Two: Diaz is Extremely Annoying about how much he misses his husband, the aforementioned 'Buck'. Or; Eddie moves to El Paso, and his new coworkers come to certain assumptions. Eddie... does not correct these assumptions.
🔥 If Only In My Dreams by songbvrd/ @songbvrd (Post-S8A, Eddie goes to El Paso, Christmas, Getting Together | 9K | General): Evan Buckley had never been good at knowing when to let go of things. So when Eddie Diaz told him on a chilly Friday afternoon that he had put his house on the market and started packing, Buck told himself that this time, he wasn't going to cling to someone trying to leave him behind. This time, Buck would understand what rejection looked like, and he would let someone he loved walk away with dignity. OR Eddie moves to El Paso a month before Christmas. Buck goes a little bit insane about it.
see both sides by snorlaxer (Post-S7, Mind-reading | 9K | Teen): When Buck overlooks a small injury to the head during one of his shifts, it turns out to be a very big problem once he starts hearing the internal voices of everyone he walks by, including his best friend, who seems to be undergoing a silent life-crisis. As Buck listens more and more to the thoughts that surround him, he becomes increasingly more confused with his own. OR Buck can hear other people's thoughts, and Eddie's are everything and nothing like he expected.
Wherever you find love (make it last all year) by rainbow_nerds/ @rainbow-nerdss (Canon Divergent, Christmas | 12K | Mature): Buck first met Eddie on Christmas. This is the story of seven Christmases they spend together.
🔥 i can't see you (the light is in my face) by withmeornotatall/ @chronicowboy (Post-S8A, Eddie goes to Texas, Eddie Sexuality Crisis | 15K | Explicit): "Have you even tried making friends?" "God, Abuela, what am I in kindergarten again?" "No, you were much more outgoing in kindergarten. Made friends with the whole class. Teachers too. Now, your only friend is an old lady. If you're really moving here, Eddie, you need to make some friends. You can't just rely on me and Christopher to keep you company." "I know. I know. I think I'm just scared to put roots down. It doesn't feel real yet, you know? Every time I wake up, I keep waiting to see my ceiling from home, walk past Christopher's room on the way to the kitchen, find Buck in the kitchen making pancakes. I don't think I want it to feel real. Plus," he adds with a brittle grin, "the last time I made a new friend, Buck almost broken my ankle." And then slept with said friend, he thinks. "I'm not convinced he couldn't give me a bloody nose from eight-hundred miles away just by thinking real hard." (OR: eddie makes a new friend, she makes some assumptions, eddie spirals about it in his patented life-ruining way)
🔥 all the ashes I've earned by greenbergsays/ @greenbergsays (Post-S8E8: Wannabes, Near Death Experiences | 22K | Teen): A horn blares. Buck looks in time to see the truck barreling right for him. Something a lot like relief washes over him. Good, he thinks. At least now he doesn’t have to watch Eddie walk away. -- OR: Spiraling about Eddie's announcement, Buck gets into a car accident and falls into another coma. This is Eddie in the aftermath.
🔥 wake up, boy, you're far from home by Daisies_and_Briars/ @cal-daisies-and-briars (Post-S8A, Christmas, Eddie Sexuality Crisis, Getting Together | 23K | Explicit): Eddie is miserable in El Paso, having seemingly made things worse. Buck is miserable in Los Angeles, without him. When Buck agrees to go home to Hershey for the holidays, everything implodes.
WIP
🔥 Finding Mr Christmas by JJK/@trenchcoatsandtimetravel (Canon Divergent, Reality TV, Christmas | 9/11 | 52K | Teen): "Welcome to Finding Mr Christmas! You’re all here chasing the same dream, to star in a Hallmark Christmas movie, and over the next few weeks we’re going to be putting you through your paces to see which of you has the most star quality and that ‘it’ factor that makes you shine above the rest." 🎄🎄🎄 An AU where Buck and Eddie meet as contestants on Hallmark's Finding Mr Christmas competition (and fall for each other).
🔥 Cadence by Nejinee/ @nejineeee (Future fic, Getting Together | 1/2 | 6K | Explicit): When the credits finally finished rolling and Buck was left in the shrouded silence of Eddie’s house, he sighed. He turned his head slightly, feeling Eddie’s unbelievably soft hair brush against his cheek. Eddie’s cologne was all but gone after a day like today. Eventually, he’d need to shower and get ready for bed. Buck wanted to wait a moment; he wanted to sit in this silence a little longer.
🔥 Things We're All Too Young to Know by Daisies_and_Briars/ @cal-daisies-and-briars (Canon S1-S6, Divergent Post-S6 | 141/? | 454K | Mature): This is a love story. Even if it doesn’t always look like it. Even if it doesn’t always feel like it. A look back on Eddie and Buck's lives up to now, and what led them to each other, interpreted from the current 9-1-1 canon.
🔥 Gentle On My Mind by Daisies_and_Briars/ @cal-daisies-and-briars (Canon Divergent, Shannon Lives, Buck/Eddie/Shannon | 10/? | 63K | Explicit): In which Shannon lives, tells a lie, and sends hers, Eddie's, and Buck's lives down a very different path.
Podfic
[podfic] and we can stay all day by be_brave13/ @djemsowhat // fic by trippedandfell/ @trippedandfell (Zoologist Buck AU | 20-30min | Teen): “So let me get this straight,” Hen says, once she’s stopped laughing at him. “Your nerd crush-” “-Evan Buckley,” Eddie miserably interjects. “Your nerd crush,” Hen repeats, waggling her eyebrows. At the kitchen table beside her, Chimney is grinning like Christmas just came early. “Read your drunk tweet and then sent you animal facts via DM?” or: Buck's a zoologist. Eddie's pretty sure he's in love. (Part 1 of zoologist buck)
[Podfic] What's love got to do with it? by Pretzel26 // fic by ColorMeParanoid/ @color-me-paranoid (Platonic Boyfriends to Lovers | 1/30 | 10-20min | Mature): "Hear me out," Buck said. "Clearly, both of us are sick of dating other people. And we're a good fit, in pretty much every way that matters. So what if we're not in love? We don't need to be in love to be happy together." Eddie frowned. "So basically, we'd be boyfriends, without benefits?" "Yes!" Buck snapped his fingers. "Like platonic boyfriends! We'd get all the benefits of a relationship and none of the heartbreak." And maybe Eddie had finally lost his mind, or maybe it was from all the alcohol clouding his judgment, but the idea of it didn't sound half as crazy as it should have. *** After Buck’s and Eddie’s dates both end with disasters – proving once again that maybe dating just wasn’t meant for them – they decide to simply settle for each other. If there was one person in the world they'd ever trust with their hearts, it was each other. And who was a better person to date other than your very own best friend?
Re-read
🔥what if i can't have us by woodchoc_magnum/ @woodchoc-magnum (Post-S7E5, Getting Together, Sexuality Crisis | 47K Explicit): In which Eddie is dating Marisol; Buck's dating Tommy, and Eddie has feelings about that, which he simply does. not. understand.
🔥 The Heart Opening Sequence by Leslie_Knope (Post-S3, Getting Together | 34K | Mature): Eddie’s handsome, that’s obvious, Buck clocked that the second he met him. Part of him still can’t really believe that the guy he was so threatened by at first ended up as his closest friend, which is why these weird twinges are so unsettling. Buck isn’t sure if they’re real, for one, these odd flashes of what it would be like to lean over and kiss Eddie while they’re watching a movie or brush a hand over his back while they’re in the kitchen. And for two, it’s so far out of the realm of possibility that it’s barely worth thinking about.
🔥 drink the river dry by Rianne/ @rianneeyre (Post Shooting, Getting Together | 32K | Explicit): It wasn’t until they were discussing his discharge paperwork and painkiller schedules that it really sunk in for Eddie that Buck would be staying with him and Christopher. That he would be around 24/7 except for his shifts at work. That he’ll sleep on the couch, where he’s been sleeping for days now to look after Christopher. The worst part is that it’s necessary—Eddie isn’t going to be able to do a damn thing for himself for the next couple of weeks. He’s lucky if he can put a shirt on by himself a month from now. Yeah, that’s going to be a problem. Or: Eddie gets shot, breaks up with his girlfriend, and pines like there’s no tomorrow.
🔥Plus or Minus by ElvenSorceress/ @elvensorceress (S5 | 10K | General): “Why are you cleaning out the kitchen? Why is my stuff in boxes?” Eddie slows, then stops. “Figured you’d want it back.” It’s quieter. Pained. When he says it. “I haven’t decided anything. So unless you’re kicking me out—” “Buck. Come on.” He’s not angry or snapping. It’s still quiet, and somehow that hurts even more. He’s resigned and defeated, and Buck is a scooped out, gutted, hollow shell. “I know how this ends the same way you do. You want to be loved, you want to be married. You’re going to leave. Might as well…” His voice cracks before he can finish and get it under control. “Shouldn’t drag it out.” ~ Taylor is offered a job across the country and asks Buck to go with her. Buck has to figure out if he wants to start over or if he has a reason to stay right where he is.
🔥 The Pain Will Leave You Once It's Done Teaching You by fruitsdoesnotknow (Canon Divergent, Daniel Lives-kinda | 40K | Mature): “Hi, I’m Buck, a firefighter with the 136,” for now, the thought crashes through Buck, leaving a sour taste in his mouth. “Uh, you’re both welcome to take a tour with us, if you’d like.” Buck awkwardly scratches at his neck, running a hand through his hair, unsure what else to do, and it spurs the man in front of him to take a large step forward up to Buck’s bed. “Eddie,” he says, thrusting a hand to him, and Buck reaches over without a second thought. His whole palm feels electric, it smarts and carries the touch of Eddie, Eddie, that Buck feels it completely. He has no idea what’s happening to him. “Edmundo Diaz, but just Eddie though, uh, no one calls me Edmundo. Right. I’m a new nurse here, at Cedars-Senai. Oh –” *** When Daniel Buckley lives a little longer, Evan Buckley dies a little more. And this is how Eddie Diaz saves him, a little later on.
i find you in everything (but its here you find yourself) by withmeornotatall/ @chronicowboy (Post-S6, Getting Together | 3K | Teen): Buck takes another sig of beer, "she left." "Sorry, man, I know you liked her. Guess where most people are scared of death, a death doula is scared of life." "Wow, that's actually pretty poignant," Buck says. "Didn't know you had it in you." Eddie just rolls his eyes. "Its weird, though, her being scared off by a donor baby." Eddie frowns over at him. "Chris didn't freak her out?"
and if someone asked me if I love you (I'd lie) by forgetmyname/ @kingmieczyslaw (Crack | 10K | Explicit): Eddie has a concussion. Suddenly he can't lie. It would be fine if he wasn't trying his best to not confess his undying love for Buck.
🔥 the kiss that lingers by greenbergsays/ @greenbergsays (Getting Together | 10K | Explicit): 5 times Eddie kisses Buck's birthmark & 1 time he doesn't.
🔥I'm Hearing Secret Harmonies by Chash/ @ponyregrets (Canon Divergent, Witch Eddie, Coffeshop AU | 18K | Teen): When the firefighter walks into Eddie's coffeeshop, Eddie immediately knows two things about him: he's not human, and he's the love of Eddie's life. Oh, he knows a bunch of other things too, obviously. He's about thirty, a few months younger than Eddie himself. He has a scar on his throat, like he got stabbed there, and one of his legs has some metal rods in it that must have come from a bad injury. The guy doesn't know he's not human, which is a tricky thing to figure out, but Eddie's almost positive. Most of the non-humans he knows have always known they aren't people, but there are exceptions, and they tend to carry themselves differently. The firefighter moves like he knows he doesn't belong, but not like he knows why. Like he's afraid of taking up space, afraid of being noticed. As if Eddie is even capable of not noticing him.
you are so gorgeous it makes me so mad by bellabrady (Post-S6, Getting Together | 5K | Not Rated): Or: Eddie is annoyed with Buck for being so very kissable but his drunk self isn't the best at phrasing things.
🔥 This May Be Practice, But I'm an Experienced Idiot by giselleslash/ @gigi-gigi (Fake Dating, kinda, Getting Together | 10K | Teen): Buck overhears a conversation between Eddie, Hen, and Chim and misunderstands it all. Or, the one where Buck thinks Eddie’s only asked him on a date for practice.

saw something about stoner suguru mention so let me draw a picture here using my own two cents (and experience, rayray hearts weed)
stoner!suguru who at first was very opposed to the concept of weed, he used to be one of those cigarettes and cigars and whatnot over weed type of snob. then he met his partner who on surface level doesn't look like it but gets high on almost daily.
first time he tries weed with his partner he gets really giggly and touchy and it wasn't that long into your relationship so you guys hadn't even said I love you's yet, but poor thing high off his ass off of only 2 puffs from a single joint, just blurts out how much he's down right pathetically in love with you that he's willing to even try weed for you.
this turns into a heavy make out session with you just at first kissing softly, sitting beside eachother, passing the same blunt—to tangling your fingers in his loose locks and getting on top of him, barely hovering over his lap, one of his hands on your ass the other pulling you somehow closer and deeper by your throat. eventually he just pulls your ass (literally) on his lap, the hand on the ass now groping and kneading, another roams around your waist until it goes up your shirt and just starts rubbing circles around your back.
and when you think oh i know where this is going ~ well, he passes out then and there on the floor of the balcony where you guys were smoking, with a huge grin on his face and his hair a mess, sprawled around his head.
Next day he barely remembered anything and said oh well he wouldn't want to do that again (even if it felt really good). but still gets high with you when he comes over to your place that week and again just confesses his undying love for you with a dopey grin and rips his hair tie off his hair then throws it away from the balcony. his reason being that he'd rather have you keep his hair in place by pulling on it. and starts talking about this new kind of tea he found which reminds him of your perfume and how he is actually always thinking about how he wants to just bite you and leave marks all over when he's sometimes spacing off and you ask him what was he thinking about so hard. more than half of the time it's about wanting to bite you.
he did't know he already said I love you to you while he was high, and how he always starts yapping way more than what he normally does, breaking his cool mysterious guy persona. someone might even say satoru has definately rubbed off on him the way he starts talking about anything and everything, especially related to you maybe even a miniscule detail. when he is high, he usually starts with "you know. I am so disgustingly in love with you. it's insane." after silently exchanging a joint with you and letting the weed get to him. so when you found out accidentally one of these days where he got high and told you about his elaborate plan for a date that Sunday to finally tell you that he loves you, all you did was smile and nod. you told him a month after that date that he actually told you 'I love you' the very first time you guys got high together.
safe to say suguru is a changed man who loves getting high with his partner on their balconies on weekends or on nights after a particularly shitty day where all he needs is to get his mind to shut up and just look at his partner, kiss them silly and touch them all over.

The Encounter
The hallway was its usual self-chaotic and buzzing with the chatter of students heading to their next class. You were walking at your usual pace, headphones in, deep in thought as you mentally prepared for the day ahead. The last thing you expected was to be caught in a collision of bodies in the middle of the hallway.
“Whoa!”
You bumped into someone, sending a few papers flying out of your bag. You quickly bent down to pick them up, not even bothering to glance up at the person you’d collided with. You were more focused on saving your notes than on apologizing for the accidental bump.
“Hey, you good?” came a familiar voice, filled with that cocky tone you knew all too well.
It was Riki, the basketball star everyone fawned over. His voice had this self-assuredness to it, and judging by the reactions of others whenever he walked down the hall, he had a reputation. He was the guy who always had a crowd of people around him, but you couldn’t care less.
You nodded, as you continued picking up the papers. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just, uh, careful next time.”
Riki blinked, clearly thrown off. Most people would’ve been all over him-squealing, apologizing, or even blushing. But you? You just acted like nothing happened. Like he wasn’t some godsend the school adored.
As you finished gathering your papers, you glanced up at him for the first time. And when you did, you gave him a small, casual smile-just enough to acknowledge him without making it anything special.
It wasn’t a flirtatious smile. It wasn’t anything overly friendly either. It was just… a smile. But to Riki, it was as if the world had slowed down. He felt his chest tighten and his mind race.
He swallowed.
“Whoa,” he muttered under his breath, staring at you. “Did she just… smile at me?”
His friends had started walking up behind him, no doubt noticing the intensity in his gaze. They all exchanged a few confused glances as they watched Riki stand there, practically frozen.
“Bro,” Jay called out, breaking his trance. “You alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
Riki shook his head, trying to snap out of it, but the image of your smile was burned into his mind. He turned to his friends and said, “No, no. You don’t get it. That smile… it was different. It was the one. It’s-” He paused, trying to get his words together. “It’s like love at first sight.”
His friends stared at him, deadpan.
“What?” Jake asked, narrowing his eyes. “You’re serious? Dude, you’re delusional.”
“No, listen,” Riki continued, now pacing, clearly ignoring their sarcasm. “She didn’t act like every other girl. She didn’t freak out or go all blushy when she saw me. She didn’t act starstruck. She’s different. She gets me.”
Heeseung rubbed his temples. “Bro, you’re definitely on something. You ran into her, and she just gave you a smile. That’s not love at first sight, that’s just you being dramatic.”
Riki wasn’t hearing any of it. “No, you don’t understand. I’m telling you, I’m in love with her. And I’m gonna make her my queen.”
Jay snorted. “My queen? Are we in some medieval romance movie now? C’mon, man, be for real.”
But Riki was unwavering. “I’m serious. I’m going to make her fall for me. I just… I know it. She’s the one.”
Sunoo, leaning against the lockers, smirked. “Dude, you’re acting like you just found the Holy Grail or something. She Doesn't even know you.”
Riki waved off their teasing. “Doesn’t matter. I’m going to win her over. You’ll see.”
Meanwhile, you, in the background, had no clue what was happening. You picked up your bag, checked your papers, and continued walking, headphones back in your ears. It wasn’t that you didn’t notice Riki-he was hard to miss-but honestly? You couldn’t have cared less. To you, he was just another student who thought he was the main character of his own movie.
Riki, however, stood there, still in his thoughts. He felt like he’d just witnessed something cosmic. Your smile had done something to him-made him believe, for the first time, that maybe he wasn’t just the guy who could score three-pointers, but that he was capable of… love.
His friends followed him down the hall, still ribbing him for his newfound “obsession.”
“So, what’s the plan now?” Sunghoon asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Are you going to serenade her in the middle of the cafeteria or what?”
Riki smirked, clearly not phased. “You’ll see. I’m going big. She won’t know what hit her. I’m going full king of hearts mode.”
Jungwon raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, good luck with that. You’re like the least subtle person I know.”
“Hey,” Riki said, “if I’m gonna go for it, I’m going all in. No half-measures.”
Jay sighed, shaking his head. “This is gonna be a disaster, isn’t it?”
“Probably,” Sunoo added, grinning. “But I’ll be here for the show.”
As Riki walked away, a small, satisfied grin spread across his face. He was sure of it. There was no way a girl like you would be able to resist him for long. After all, he had that charm. And if there was one thing Riki knew, it was how to get what he wanted.
Meanwhile, you made your way to your next class, completely unaware of Riki’s newfound mission-a mission he was about to turn into the most entertaining disaster of your high school life.
The Obsession Begins
At school, Riki spotted you by your locker again, headphones on as usual. He adjusted his backpack, ran a hand through his hair, and sauntered over like he hadn’t spent the entire morning rehearsing what to say.
“Hey.”
You didn’t look up.
Riki cleared his throat. “Hey,” he said louder, leaning against the lockers in what he hoped was a cool, casual way.
You finally glanced up, pulling one headphone out. “Do you need something?”
Riki’s brain short-circuited. He had spent hours planning a witty response, but all he managed to say was, “Nice book.”
You blinked, looking at the plain black cover of your notebook. “It’s a math textbook.”
“Oh, uh… yeah, I knew that,” Riki said quickly. “I love math. Big fan.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Really? What’s the quadratic formula?”
Riki froze.
“Exactly,” you said, putting your headphones back in.
From across the hallway, Heeseung and Jake were watching the exchange unfold.
“He’s crashing and burning,” Jake whispered.
“I give him points for effort,” Heeseung said, shaking his head.
Later that day, Riki’s friends gathered around him during lunch to debrief his latest failure.
“You said you were gonna play it cool,” Jungwon said, popping a grape into his mouth.
“I was playing it cool,” Riki insisted.
“You called her math book ‘nice,’” Sunghoon deadpanned.
Jake nearly spit out his drink. “You really told her you’re a math fan? Bro, even I know that’s a red flag.”
“It’s not a red flag!” Riki said defensively. “I just panicked.”
Sunoo smirked. “I think she has the mental upper hand, and you don’t know how to deal with it.”
“What does that even mean?”
“It means you’re whipped, and she doesn’t even know it,” Heeseung said, patting him on the back.
Riki buried his face in his hands. “This is so embarrassing.”
“Oh, we’re way past embarrassing,” Sunoo said. “But don’t worry, we’re here to make sure you keep embarrassing yourself.”
“Supportive as ever,” Riki muttered.
Meanwhile, at your table, your friends were having a very different conversation.
“Riki was staring at you this morning,” Julie said, doodling on her notebook.
“I think he was trying to flirt,” Karina added, scrolling through her phone.
You frowned. “That’s not flirting.”
“Oh, sweetie, it was flirting,” Giselle said, pulling her headphones off. “Awful flirting, but flirting nonetheless.”
“I don’t get it,” you said, biting into your sandwich. “Why would he even bother?”
“Because he’s into you,” Julie said, wiggling her eyebrows.
“Into me? He doesn’t even know me.”
“That’s probably why he’s into you,” Karina said with a grin. “You’re, like, the one person in this school who doesn’t worship the ground he walks on. He’s confused, and now he’s spiraling.”
Giselle snorted. “It’s giving ‘golden retriever chasing a cat.’”
“Exactly!” Julie said, clapping her hands. “And you’re the cat.”
“Great. I’m being compared to an animal,” you said dryly.
Karina leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “But admit it. It’s kinda fun watching him squirm, isn’t it?”
You smirked, not bothering to answer.
Riki wasn’t done for the day.
He had a plan-a bold, risky plan that could either win you over or completely backfire.
“Are you sure about this?” Heeseung asked as they stood outside the library.
“Yes,” Riki said firmly, holding up a small folded note. “This is foolproof.”
“Your definition of foolproof worries me,” Jungwon muttered.
“It’s just a note,” Riki said. “How hard can it be?”
The note in question was a piece of lined paper on which Riki had written a short (and in his opinion, very clever) message:
Hey. You dropped this: 🖤
– Riki
The plan was simple. He would walk past you, drop the note on your desk, and walk away like a cool, mysterious guy.
“You look like you’re delivering a ransom letter,” Sunoo said as they watched him sneak into the library.
“Shut up,” Riki hissed.
You were sitting at a table in the back of the library, headphones on, completely absorbed in your book. Riki took a deep breath, walked up to your table, and slid the note across to you.
Then, instead of walking away like he planned, he froze.
You looked up, noticing him standing there. Slowly, you picked up the note and read it.
“You dropped this?” you said, holding up the paper.
“Uh… yeah,” Riki said.
“I was sitting here the whole time.”
“Oh, uh, right. I meant to say I dropped it. And you… picked it up. Metaphorically.”
You squinted at him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m great,” Riki said, his voice cracking.
You glanced at the note again. “What does this even mean?”
“It means, uh…” Riki paused, searching for an explanation. “It means… you’re cool. Like, you dropped your coolness, and I wanted to give it back to you.”
Your lips twitched as if you were trying not to laugh. “Right.”
“I’ll just… go now,” Riki said, turning on his heel and speed-walking out of the library.
“What happened?” Sunghoon asked when Riki returned to his friends.
“She didn’t laugh me out of the room, so… progress?” Riki said.
Sunoo shook his head. “You’re like a baby giraffe trying to learn how to walk.”
Back in the library, you were still holding the note, a small smile tugging at your lips. You didn’t know what Riki was trying to do, but you had to admit-it was kind of amusing.
And maybe, just maybe, a little endearing.
The Unintended Slip
Riki wasn’t one to give up easily. Sure, you’d shot him down twice now, but in his mind, that just meant he needed to step up his game. If you weren’t going to swoon over his basketball skills or mysterious notes, he’d have to get creative.
Enter: Operation Study Buddy.
Riki barged into the cafeteria, plopping down at the usual table where his friends were mid-meal. “Okay, guys, I need a new strategy.”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. “You’re talking like this is a business pitch.”
“It is a business pitch-except instead of closing a deal, I’m closing the distance to her heart,” Riki said, dramatically clutching his chest.
Jake nearly choked on his water. “Did you actually just say that?”
“Focus, guys,” Riki said, leaning forward. “She’s smart, right? Always reading or doing something intellectual. So, I’m gonna ask her to help me study for our next math quiz.”
“Bold move, considering you thought the quadratic formula was a type of shampoo,” Sunoo said, smirking.
“Hey, everyone struggles in their own way!” Riki shot back.
Heeseung leaned back in his chair, folding his arms. “You think she’ll buy it?”
“She will,” Riki said confidently. Then, after a pause: “I just need to act dumb enough that she won’t suspect anything.”
Jungwon snorted. “That won’t be acting.”
By the time math class rolled around, Riki was ready. He spotted you sitting in your usual seat by the window, scribbling in your notebook. Taking a deep breath, he walked over and sat down in the desk next to yours.
You glanced up, eyebrows raised. “You’re sitting here now?”
“Yeah,” Riki said casually. “Thought I’d mix it up. Plus, I, uh… need your help.”
You tilted your head. “With?”
“Math,” he said, trying to look as clueless as possible. “You’re good at it, right?”
You stared at him for a moment, as if deciding whether he was serious. “What’s the problem?”
Riki pulled out his textbook, flipping to a random page. “This. I don’t get it.”
You leaned over to look, and Riki suddenly realized how close you were. He could smell the faint hint of your shampoo, something floral and light, and his brain momentarily short-circuited.
“This is literally multiplication,” you said, snapping him out of it.
“Yeah, uh, it’s been a while,” Riki said, scratching the back of his neck. “You know how it is-letters, numbers… it’s confusing.”
You gave him a look. “Riki, the problem is 8 x 9.”
“…Right. And the answer is…” He trailed off, waiting for you to fill in the blank.
You sighed. “72.”
“Of course! That’s what I was gonna say,” Riki said quickly.
You sat back, clearly unimpressed. “Do you actually need help, or is this some kind of elaborate excuse to sit here?”
Riki froze, caught red-handed. “I… uh… well…”
Before he could answer, the teacher walked in, saving him from further embarrassment.
Later that day, Riki regrouped with his friends.
“She saw right through me,” he groaned, slumping against his locker.
“To be fair, your acting skills are about as subtle as a neon sign,” Jake said.
“I’m starting to think she’s too smart for me,” Riki admitted.
Sunoo snickered. “Oh, we’ve all been thinking that.”
“Shut up,” Riki muttered.
“You just need to find something that’ll catch her off guard,” Jungwon suggested.
“Like what?”
Sunghoon smirked. “I don’t know, man. Maybe stop being so obvious. Or at least try to flirt without sounding like a confused toddler.”
“I’m great at flirting!” Riki protested.
“Are you, though?” Heeseung said, raising an eyebrow.
Riki rolled his eyes. “Okay, fine. What do you suggest?”
“Say something bold. Catch her attention,” Jake said. “Like, I don’t know-‘Hey, do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?’”
“That’s cheesy as hell,” Sunoo said, wrinkling his nose.
“But it’s memorable,” Jake argued.
“I’m not using a pick-up line,” Riki said firmly.
“Then what?” Sunghoon asked.
“I’ll figure it out,” Riki said, though he wasn’t entirely sure he believed himself.
The next day, Riki decided to go for a different approach: casual conversation.
He spotted you in the library during lunch, headphones on as usual. Steeling himself, he walked over and sat across from you.
You looked up, surprised. “Do you not have friends to eat with?”
Riki grinned. “I do, but I figured I’d grace you with my company today.”
“How generous,” you said dryly.
“So, what are you working on?” he asked, leaning forward.
“An essay,” you said simply, turning back to your laptop.
“What’s it about?”
“Why sitting across from loud basketball players is a distraction,” you deadpanned.
Riki laughed, leaning back in his chair. “You’re funny, you know that?”
“I wasn’t joking,” you said, though there was a hint of amusement in your tone.
He rested his chin on his hand, studying you. “Do you ever smile?”
You looked up again, raising an eyebrow. “Do you ever stop talking?”
“Not really,” Riki admitted, grinning.
You sighed, shaking your head. “Why are you even here?”
“I like talking to you,” he said honestly.
You blinked, clearly caught off guard. “Why?”
“Because you’re different,” Riki said with a shrug. “You don’t laugh at my jokes or pretend to be impressed by everything I do. It’s refreshing.”
You stared at him for a moment, then went back to your essay. “Well, if you’re going to sit here, at least be quiet.”
“Can’t promise that,” Riki said, smirking.
When Riki returned to his friends later, he was in a suspiciously good mood.
“Did something happen?” Heeseung asked.
“Yeah,” Riki said, grinning. “I think I made progress.”
Sunoo rolled his eyes. “You mean you annoyed her until she gave up?”
“No, I had a real conversation with her,” Riki said.
“What’d you talk about?” Jake asked.
“Mostly how much I talk,” Riki admitted.
“So… nothing?” Sunghoon said.
“Hey, it’s progress,” Riki said defensively. “She didn’t tell me to leave.”
“That’s the bar now?” Sunoo said, smirking.
“Baby steps,” Riki said, leaning back with a satisfied smile.
Back at your table, your friends were equally curious.
“So, what’s the deal with Riki sitting with you in the library?” Karina asked, leaning across the table.
“Yeah, did he say something dumb again?” Giselle added.
You shrugged. “He said he likes talking to me.”
Julie gasped. “That’s so cute!”
“It’s weird,” you said, though your tone lacked conviction.
“It’s cute,” Julie insisted.
Karina smirked. “I think he’s growing on you.”
“He’s like a mosquito,” you muttered. “Annoying but persistent.”
Giselle snorted. “Yeah, but at least this mosquito is kind of hot.”
“Kind of?” Julie said, giggling. “He’s basically everyone’s crush.”
“Not mine,” you said quickly.
“Sure, sure,” Karina said, smirking. “Keep telling yourself that.”
The Art Of Embarrassment
Riki Nishimura was used to being good at things-basketball, charming people, and existing in general. But somehow, you had turned him into a walking disaster. It was like his brain short-circuited every time you were in a five-foot radius.
Today, he decided he would try something new. No elaborate plans. No fake study sessions. Just pure, unfiltered Riki.
Spoiler alert: it was a terrible idea.
It started in the cafeteria during lunch. You were sitting with your friends as usual, laughing at something Julie said. Riki watched from across the room, trying to figure out how to approach you.
“Dude, stop staring,” Jake said, nudging him.
“I’m not staring,” Riki said, not breaking eye contact.
“You’ve been staring so hard I’m surprised she hasn’t felt it and filed a restraining order,” Sunghoon said, biting into his sandwich.
“Okay, here’s the plan,” Riki said, ignoring them. “I’m gonna walk up to her table and just… talk. Like a normal person.”
Sunoo snorted. “You? A normal person? Bold of you to assume.”
Riki stood up, ignoring the chorus of snickers from his friends. He was determined.
But as he crossed the cafeteria, disaster struck.
He was walking past a table when someone stuck their leg out, probably as a joke. Riki didn’t see it until it was too late.
One moment, he was confidently striding toward you. The next, he was flat on the floor, his tray of food flying into the air in a perfect arc.
It all happened in slow motion. His spaghetti landed directly on his head, and his juice spilled all over his shirt. A chorus of gasps and laughter erupted around the cafeteria.
“Oh my God,” Sunoo whispered from their table, already pulling out his phone.
Riki scrambled to his feet, spaghetti dangling off his hair like some cursed garnish. He looked around, his face burning, only to see you staring at him with wide eyes.
For a moment, the entire cafeteria was silent. Then, someone from the back shouted, “Nice save, bro!” and the laughter resumed.
Riki grabbed a napkin, trying to salvage what was left of his dignity. “It’s fine! Totally fine!” he said, though his voice cracked halfway through.
You, to his utter shock, were trying not to laugh. You hid your smile behind your hand, but he caught it. And even though he was mortified, he felt a tiny spark of triumph.
“Legendary,” Heeseung said later, slapping Riki on the back as they regrouped in the locker room.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Riki muttered, throwing his juice-stained shirt into his locker.
“Bro, you’re trending on Snapchat,” Jake said, holding up his phone.
Riki groaned. “I hate all of you.”
“To be fair, it’s not our fault you fell like a cartoon character,” Sunoo said, smirking.
“Shut up,” Riki snapped. “At least she laughed.”
“She laughed at you,” Jungwon corrected.
“Still counts,” Riki said stubbornly.
Meanwhile, you and your friends were dissecting the incident at your table.
“I cannot believe that just happened,” Karina said, wiping tears from her eyes. “He looked like a human spaghetti plate.”
“Poor guy,” Julie said, though she was smiling too. “He’s never gonna live that down.”
Giselle smirked. “He’s got balls, though. I mean, he still tried to act cool after all that.”
You shook your head, still amused. “He’s persistent, I’ll give him that.”
Karina leaned closer, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “You’re kind of enjoying this, aren’t you?”
You shrugged, but you couldn’t deny it. Something about Riki’s clumsy attempts to get your attention was… endearing.
Later that day, Riki decided to try again. He wasn’t going to let one humiliating moment define him. He spotted you by your locker and mustered up all the courage he had left.
“Hey,” he said, leaning casually against the locker next to yours.
You looked up, immediately noticing the faint red stain on his shirt. “You missed a spot.”
Riki glanced down, groaning. “Oh, come on. I thought I got it all.”
You chuckled softly, and he felt his heart skip a beat.
“So, uh, about earlier…” he started, rubbing the back of his neck.
“What about it?” you asked, closing your locker.
“That wasn’t, like, my best moment,” he admitted.
“No kidding,” you said, smirking.
Riki grinned, appreciating your bluntness. “But, you know, I think it’s a sign.”
“A sign of what?”
“That we’re destined to be friends,” he said, winking.
You rolled your eyes. “Destined, huh? Is that what you’re calling it?”
“Absolutely,” Riki said, leaning closer. “You can’t fight fate, you know.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Is that your way of saying you’re going to keep bothering me?”
“Pretty much,” Riki admitted, grinning.
You shook your head, but you couldn’t hide the small smile on your lips. “Fine. But if you trip and fall again, I’m not helping you up.”
“Deal,” Riki said, his grin widening.
Back with his friends, Riki was practically glowing.
“She smiled at me,” he announced, plopping down at their table.
“Are we supposed to clap?” Sunoo said.
“Laugh all you want,” Riki said smugly. “I’m making progress.”
Jake shook his head. “At this rate, you’ll win her over by graduation.”
“That’s the plan,” Riki said, grabbing a fry from Sunghoon’s plate.
Sunghoon smacked his hand away. “If you touch my food again, fate won’t save you.”
“Noted,” Riki said, still smiling.
At your table, Karina was eyeing you suspiciously.
“You’re smiling again,” she said.
“No, I’m not,” you said quickly.
“You totally are,” Julie said. “What did Riki say to you?”
“Nothing important,” you said, though the small smile lingered.
Giselle smirked. “Uh-huh. Sure.”
Karina leaned closer. “Admit it. You think he’s cute.”
“Yeah, like a puppy that keeps running into walls,” you said, but your friends could tell you weren’t entirely joking.
And maybe, just maybe, neither were you.
The Failed Love Letter
Riki Nishimura had a reputation to maintain. Star basketball player, charmingly chaotic, and apparently, a complete disaster when it came to you. After the cafeteria spaghetti fiasco, he decided it was time to go old-school. No elaborate stunts or public humiliation. Just heartfelt honesty in the form of a love letter.
Unfortunately for Riki, heartfelt honesty wasn’t his strong suit.
“‘To the radiant moon of my dull, dark sky…’” Jay read aloud, squinting at the paper in his hand. He looked up, his face scrunched in disbelief. “Riki, what the hell is this?”
“It’s poetic!” Riki said defensively, snatching the paper back.
“It’s something, all right,” Jake chimed in, holding back a laugh. “Are you writing a love letter or auditioning for a Shakespearean play?”
Riki groaned, flopping onto Jay’s bed. “I don’t know, okay? I’m trying to be romantic.”
Jay snorted. “There’s a difference between romantic and… whatever this is.”
“‘The thought of you haunts my every waking moment,’” Jake read over Jay’s shoulder, cackling. “Bro, she’s gonna think you’re a serial killer.”
Riki sat up, glaring at them. “I thought you guys were supposed to be helping me!”
“We are,” Jay said, crossing his arms. “By stopping you from embarrassing yourself even more.”
Jake nodded. “Yeah, no offense, but if you give her this, she’s gonna laugh. Like, a lot.”
Riki groaned again, running a hand through his hair. “Fine. What do you suggest?”
Jay grabbed a pen, sitting down next to him. “For starters, tone it down. You’re not Edward Cullen.”
Jake smirked. “Unless you’re planning to sparkle in the sunlight.”
“Can we focus?” Riki snapped, snatching the pen.
Jay and Jake leaned in, watching as Riki rewrote the letter.
“Okay, how about this: ‘Hey, I just wanted to say you’re really cool, and I like hanging out with you.’”
Jake blinked. “That’s it? That’s boring.”
“Yeah, where’s the charm?” Jay added.
Riki groaned for the third time that afternoon. “I can’t win with you guys!”
The final version of the letter ended up being a mix of dramatic flair and casual sincerity. Riki, satisfied with his work, slipped it into your locker the next morning before anyone could talk him out of it.
Later that day, you found the letter while grabbing your books. The envelope was plain, but your name was written on it in slightly messy handwriting. Curious, you opened it.
“‘To the brightest star in my universe,’” you read quietly to yourself, already stifling a laugh. “‘Every time I see you, my heart does this weird thing-like it’s trying to breakdance but forgot how.’”
You couldn’t help it; a small giggle escaped.
Your friends noticed immediately.
“What’s so funny?” Karina asked, leaning over to look.
You quickly folded the letter and slipped it into your bag. “Nothing.”
“Oh, come on,” Giselle said, smirking. “That smile says it’s definitely something.”
“Who’s it from?” Julie asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“No one important,” you said, trying to sound nonchalant.
But your friends weren’t buying it.
Across the hallway, Riki was watching from a safe distance. He could see you smiling, and though he couldn’t hear what you were saying, he took it as a good sign.
“Dude, she’s laughing,” Sunghoon said, nudging him.
“Yeah, but not in a mean way,” Jake added. “She looks… happy?”
“I told you it was a good idea,” Riki said, grinning.
“Sure, but let’s not forget the part where you almost called her the ‘ethereal goddess of your dreams,’” Jay said, rolling his eyes.
“Details,” Riki said, waving him off.
The next day, Riki was determined to act casual. You hadn’t mentioned the letter, but you didn’t seem mad or weirded out, so he considered that a win.
But of course, his streak of bad luck continued.
During gym class, you and your friends were sitting on the bleachers, watching as the boys played basketball. Riki, eager to impress, decided to show off a little.
Big mistake.
He went for a fancy dunk, leaping high into the air. For a moment, it looked perfect-until his foot slipped on the landing.
He crashed to the floor, arms and legs flailing like a cartoon character. The ball bounced off his head with a loud thunk, and the entire gym erupted into laughter.
From the bleachers, you couldn’t help but laugh too. It was just so… Riki.
He sat up, rubbing his head, and spotted you laughing. Despite the pain and embarrassment, he couldn’t help but smile.
“Smooth,” Sunoo said as he helped Riki up. “Really smooth.”
“Shut up,” Riki muttered, though his cheeks were burning.
Later, you ran into Riki in the hallway.
“Nice fall,” you said, smirking.
Riki groaned. “You saw that, huh?”
“Hard to miss,” you said, your smirk widening. “But it was entertaining.”
He rubbed the back of his neck, looking sheepish. “Glad I could amuse you.”
You hesitated for a moment, then reached into your bag and pulled out the letter. “By the way, this was… sweet. A little dramatic, but sweet.”
Riki’s eyes widened. “You kept it?”
“Yeah,” you said, shrugging. “It made me laugh. In a good way.”
Riki grinned, his confidence returning. “So, does that mean you like me now?”
You rolled your eyes, though you were smiling. “Don’t push your luck, spaghetti boy.”
As you walked away, Riki couldn’t stop smiling.
The Secret Love Potion
After Riki’s very public fall, his confidence had taken a slight hit, but he wasn’t about to let it stop him. He had come too far-he’d written a love letter (okay, a little over the top), he’d made you laugh (even if it was at his expense), and he’d managed to get a bit of a smile out of you. Progress was being made.
But how could he keep it going? He needed a new plan.
Riki sat at the lunch table with his usual crew: Heeseung, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jake, and, of course, Jay, who was doing his best to ignore the absurdity of the situation.
“So, what’s the move today, Riki?” Heeseung asked, tapping his chopsticks against the table.
Riki sighed dramatically. “I need to do something big. Something that’ll make her see that I’m… I’m different.”
“You mean not a disaster?” Jake said, smirking.
Riki shot him a look. “Shut up. No. Something romantic. Something that’ll sweep her off her feet.”
“Like a flash mob?” Sunghoon asked, grinning.
“Not that romantic,” Riki said, shaking his head.
Jay raised an eyebrow. “Well, you did write her a letter. You could always, you know, try talking to her next.”
“Yeah, that worked out so well last time,” Riki muttered, thinking about the spaghetti incident.
“Okay, listen.” Sunoo leaned forward, his voice lowering conspiratorially. “I heard from my sister that girls love stuff like flowers and chocolates. So, why not do that?”
Riki looked at him like he’d just suggested he go skydiving without a parachute. “Flowers and chocolates? You’re joking, right?”
“Not at all, bro,” Sunoo said, shaking his head. “It’s classic. You can’t go wrong with that.”
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Jake said, holding up his hands. “We’re in 2025, not the 1950s.”
“I’m not even trying to say I’m in love with her yet. I’m just trying to get her attention without looking like a complete idiot,” Riki said.
“You sure about that?” Sunghoon asked. “Because you’ve pretty much been a walking disaster in front of her so far.”
Riki gave him a look, but Sunghoon was right. He was already overthinking it. He needed something to make you notice him, something that would stand out, something unique.
And then it hit him.
“Wait. Wait, wait, wait,” Riki said, his eyes lighting up. “What if I make a potion?”
Jay stared at him. “A potion? You mean, like, a love potion?”
“Exactly!” Riki said, his face lighting up. “It’s genius! I’ll make this super mysterious drink with all kinds of weird ingredients, like herbs and… I don’t know, whatever sounds romantic. I’ll hand it to her, and she’ll be so intrigued by it, she’ll have to notice me!”
Sunghoon blinked. “Riki, that’s… the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
But the more Riki thought about it, the more it made sense. This wasn’t just any random bottle of juice-it was going to be a potion. A mysterious potion that no one had ever seen before. He’d make it sound like he was a mad scientist in the kitchen.
“Dude, you’re really setting yourself up for failure,” Jake said, shaking his head.
Riki grinned. “Exactly. I’m going big or going home. It’s all part of the plan. She’ll be so fascinated by me that she’ll have no choice but to fall in love.”
“Is that how this works?” Jay asked, eyeing him skeptically.
“Of course it is!” Riki said, standing up with newfound determination. “I’m going to make the most epic, mysterious potion ever.”
And so, with that, Riki set off on his journey to create what he now believed would be the ultimate love potion.
The next day, Riki arrived at school with a bag full of strange, unidentifiable ingredients. His friends watched as he walked past them, a look of excitement on his face.
“What is that?” Heeseung asked, narrowing his eyes.
Riki grinned. “I’m going to make the perfect potion. This is gonna be legendary.”
“Okay, but you’re not trying to drug her, right?” Jake asked, his voice full of concern.
“What? No! No, it’s just gonna be a weird drink that she won’t be able to resist.”
“You’re really digging yourself into a hole here, dude,” Sunghoon muttered.
During lunch, Riki found you at your usual spot. You were sitting with Karina, Giselle, and Julie, talking about something you all found funny.
Riki tried to act casual as he walked over, though the bag in his hand gave him away.
“Hey,” he said, his voice unnervingly loud. “I’ve got something for you.”
You turned, raising an eyebrow. “What’s this?”
“It’s a potion,” Riki said, grinning like a mad scientist. “A love potion. Totally mysterious. You’ll love it.”
You looked at the bag. “A potion? Really?”
“Yeah!” Riki said, pulling out a small glass bottle that looked like it belonged in a mad scientist’s lab. Inside was a bubbling purple liquid, with what appeared to be floating herbs and glitter.
You tried to hide your amusement. “Uh, okay… What’s it supposed to do?”
“It’ll make you… um… fall in love with me,” Riki said, with far too much enthusiasm.
Your eyes widened. “You want me to drink that?”
“Yeah! It’s totally safe,” he said, though it was clear he had no idea what he’d actually made.
You couldn’t help it. You burst out laughing. “Riki, this is insane.”
But you took the bottle from him anyway. “I’ll take it,” you said with a smile, “but don’t expect me to fall in love with you because of this.”
Riki beamed. “It’s worth a shot, right?”
As you walked away, you tried to hold in your giggles. The potion was definitely the most ridiculous thing Riki had ever done, but it was kind of cute. You could tell he’d put a lot of effort into it-even if it was a total failure.
That afternoon, you showed your friends the bottle, and they all had a good laugh at Riki’s expense.
“I swear, he’s got to be delusional,” Karina said, eyeing the potion. “But, like, in the best way.”
“You should definitely keep it as a souvenir,” Giselle said, raising an eyebrow. “It’ll be hilarious to bring up later.”
Julie smirked. “Maybe you can actually drink it and see what happens.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t stop smiling.
Meanwhile, Riki sat with his friends, eagerly waiting for any word from you.
“So, uh, did she drink it?” Jake asked.
“No,” Riki said, deflating a little. “But she took it, so that’s something.”
“You’ve got a better chance with her if you just, you know, talk to her like a normal human being,” Heeseung said.
But Riki wasn’t listening. As far as he was concerned, this potion was his ticket to success.
As the day ended, you threw the potion in your bag, secretly touched by Riki’s effort, but fully aware of how ridiculous the whole thing was.
You couldn’t help but smile to yourself. Maybe Riki was a bit of a disaster, but he was also kind of charming in his own, chaotic way.
The Unintentional Date
Riki’s love potion-while the perfect display of his desperation-wasn’t exactly the magical breakthrough he had hoped for. But that didn’t deter him. If anything, he was more determined to win you over, now that he’d officially made a fool of himself.
The next morning, as Riki was heading to class, he saw you at your locker. You were looking through your bag, completely unaware of the impending chaos that was about to unfold.
Riki decided to make his move.
“Hey, you!” he called out, giving his signature awkward-but-trying-to-be-cool grin.
You turned, raising an eyebrow. “Oh, hey, Riki. What’s up?”
“Uh, not much. Just-” He paused for dramatic effect, trying to look calm, but failing miserably. “Just wanted to see how the potion worked for you last night.”
You blinked at him for a moment. “The potion?”
He nodded, his expression too serious for the situation. “Yeah, you know, the love potion.”
You snorted. “Oh right, the one that looks like it came straight out of a mad scientist’s basement?”
Riki winced. “It’s… it’s a special recipe.”
“Oh, I can tell,” you said, trying not to laugh. “I haven’t drunk it yet, but I did keep it as a reminder of how creative you are.”
He smiled, clearly proud of himself. “I knew you’d keep it. You know, it’s a one-of-a-kind potion. It’s got… uh… special ingredients.”
“What kind of ingredients?” you asked, genuinely curious.
Riki looked around nervously, as if trying to remember what he’d actually put in the potion. “Uh, a secret blend of… um… lavender, honey, and… a dash of, like… magic?”
“Magic,” you repeated, deadpan. “That’s totally reassuring.”
“I mean, yeah. Magic is always part of the equation, right?” Riki shrugged, clearly grasping at straws.
Before you could respond, Heeseung appeared behind him. “Riki, you’ve got a huge glob of chocolate syrup on your shirt,” he said, pointing.
Riki glanced down at his shirt in panic. There, right in the center of his chest, was a sticky blotch of chocolate sauce.
“What?!” he exclaimed. “Where did that-”
You couldn’t hold it in any longer. You burst out laughing, and Heeseung did the same.
“Nice,” you said, still laughing. “Looks like you’re really sweeping me off my feet with that shirt.”
Riki groaned, swiping at the mess with his sleeve, only making it worse.
“Did you steal the chocolate syrup from the cafeteria again?” Heeseung asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Shut up, it’s… I’m not stealing!” Riki said, looking utterly defeated.
As if on cue, Sunghoon walked by, shaking his head. “You’re a walking disaster, man.”
“Thanks for the support, guys,” Riki muttered, still trying to wipe the chocolate off.
“Honestly,” you said, trying to stifle your laughter, “I think I’ll just drink the potion now. Maybe it’ll fix your whole ‘hot mess’ thing.”
Riki stared at you in horror. “Wait, what?!”
You flashed him a mischievous grin. “Just kidding. But you do look like you need some kind of miracle.”
Riki looked like he might die on the spot, but somehow, he managed to give you a crooked grin. “Yeah, guess I do.”
Later that day, Riki, still trying to salvage what little dignity he had left, decided to take a different approach. He’d seen the school was having a “Karaoke Night” for the senior class, and he figured that if he could sing something ridiculous in front of everyone-especially you-it would definitely get your attention.
The problem? Riki couldn’t sing. Not even a little bit.
But did that stop him? Absolutely not.
That afternoon, he spent hours researching “romantic songs” on his phone, hoping to pick the one that would absolutely sweep you off your feet. His friend group, of course, was less than supportive.
“You’re really doing this?” Sunghoon asked, facepalming. “Riki, you’re tone-deaf.”
“I’m not tone-deaf,” Riki argued, crossing his arms. “I have an amazing voice. Trust me.”
Jake raised an eyebrow. “You’ve been singing in the shower for years, and we can still hear you across the hall.”
“Yeah, bro. You sound like a cat being strangled,” Sunghoon added.
“Thanks for the confidence boost, guys,” Riki muttered. “But I’m doing this. For her.”
“Yeah, good luck with that,” Heeseung said, tapping him on the shoulder. “You might need a backup plan… like, a good excuse for why you completely butcher the song.”
Riki grinned. “I’m gonna do this. You’ll see.”
That evening, Karaoke Night arrived, and the gymnasium was buzzing with energy. The lights were dimmed, the stage was set up, and students were taking turns picking songs from the cheesy setlist.
Riki, with a mix of nervousness and determination, stepped up to the mic, the crowd falling silent as he grabbed it with shaky hands. You were sitting with your friends near the back, watching with amused expressions.
“What’s he doing?” Karina asked, eyebrow raised.
“I think he’s about to make a fool of himself,” Giselle said, already bracing for impact.
Julie grinned. “I can’t wait for this.”
Riki adjusted the mic, then announced, “I’m gonna sing ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston.”
The crowd gasped, and you did your best to hold in your laughter.
You could already imagine how this was going to go.
The music started, and Riki-bless his heart-sang the first line with full, unfiltered enthusiasm.
But instead of hitting any of the notes correctly, he sounded like a dying walrus. His voice cracked at all the wrong times, and he missed the high notes entirely. The audience went silent for a moment before everyone burst out laughing.
From the back, you could hear Heeseung shout, “God, Riki, you’ve ruined this song for generations!”
Riki, completely undeterred, kept going. His confidence was through the roof-despite how much of a disaster it was turning into.
“Riki, please,” Sunghoon shouted from the back, “we’re begging you to stop!”
But Riki was in it now. He was not backing down. He finished the song with as much gusto as he could muster, ending with an off-key, completely butchered high note.
The gym erupted into applause-but not for the quality of the performance.
Riki walked off the stage, out of breath, and completely humiliated. He gave a half-hearted wave to the crowd and sat back down at his table.
“I’m going to die,” he muttered, burying his face in his hands.
You couldn’t help yourself. You were laughing so hard that you could barely breathe.
“Nice job, Riki,” you called out, still laughing. “You really… um, sang your heart out.”
He looked up, red-faced and defeated. “Please, just tell me you didn’t think that was horrible.”
You wiped away tears of laughter and gave him a soft smile. “Okay, I’ll be honest. It was awful. But, like, in the best way possible.”
Riki blinked. “What?”
“You know,” you said, shrugging, “it was so bad that it was actually kind of… impressive. Like a car crash you can’t look away from.”
He groaned, slumping in his seat. “I’m never doing that again.”
But you noticed the faintest smile on his face, and for some reason, it made everything feel a little less embarrassing. Maybe there was hope for Riki after all.
Riki's Poetic Disaster
The classroom buzzed with the sound of chairs scraping the floor and low murmurs as your small poetry club prepared for its weekly meeting. You sat in your usual spot, notebook open, fingers lightly tapping your pen as you waited for your turn to present. It was your favorite place, a peaceful escape from the chaos of school.
That peace, however, was shattered when the classroom door burst open.
Riki swaggered in like he was about to perform at a sold-out stadium, not join a poetry club meeting. His varsity jacket was slung over his shoulder, and he looked around the room with a grin that screamed I’m about to change your life.
Giselle leaned over to whisper in your ear, “Oh no. He’s Shakespeare-ing his way into embarrassment, I can feel it.”
You sighed, bracing yourself. “What is he doing here?”
Riki spotted you and immediately lit up like a neon sign. “Yo!” he called, waving with both hands as though you were on opposite ends of a football field. “This the poetry thing?”
The entire room turned to look at him, a mix of amusement and disbelief on their faces. After all, Riki had once loudly declared in English class that “books are just fancy napkins with words” and “poetry is for sad people with nothing better to do.”
“Yep, he’s officially lost it,” Karina muttered from the other side of the room.
Riki walked up to the front of the room, all confident. “Hey, uh, I’m Riki. Some of you might know me as the star of our basketball team-no autographs, please. But today, I’m here to…uh, you know, embrace art and stuff.”
You blinked. “Why are you here?”
He winked. “I’m here to support you, obviously. And, uh, to share my gift with the world.”
“Your…gift?”
“Yeah,” Riki said, completely serious. “Poetry. I wrote a poem. It’s deep. You’re gonna love it.”
The club stared at him, stunned. Finally, the president of the club, a quiet senior named Mina, gestured for him to go ahead. “Well…we’d love to hear it.”
Riki cleared his throat, pulling a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket. He unfolded it with the precision of someone unveiling the Mona Lisa.
“This,” he began, “is called ‘Love is Like Basketball.’”
Giselle buried her face in her hands. Karina groaned audibly.
Riki began, his voice overly dramatic and far too loud for the small room:
“Love is like basketball.
You gotta dribble through life,
but sometimes…
the ball hits you in the face.
And that ball?
That’s you.
You’re the ball.
And I’m…the player.”
Sunoo, who had somehow slipped into the back of the room to spectate, muttered, “This is physically painful.”
Riki continued, oblivious:
“I shoot my shot,
and sometimes I miss.
But then I rebound,
because love is all about…
rebounds.
Also, you’re hot like the sun,
but cool like water.
And that’s why I like you.
End poem.”
The room was dead silent. Somewhere outside, a bird squawked, as if protesting the tragedy that had just unfolded.
Giselle whispered, “I’m in physical pain. I think I’m getting secondhand embarrassment hives.”
Riki, completely unaware, smiled proudly and folded his paper. “What’d you think?” he asked, looking directly at you.
You blinked at him, unsure whether to laugh, cry, or stage an intervention. “Uh…it’s…unique?”
“Right?” He grinned wider. “I’m basically the next Shakespeare.”
“That was worse than the time you tried to rap during gym class,” Karina said, shaking her head.
“Hey, that rap had bars,” Riki shot back.
Giselle smirked. “Bars? That poem had potholes.”
Riki ignored her, his confidence unwavering. “I put my heart into that, okay? And I wrote it for you.” He pointed at you, completely serious. “So…what do you think? Be honest.”
You couldn’t help it-you burst out laughing. You laughed so hard your stomach hurt, and tears pricked the corners of your eyes.
Riki’s grin faltered. “Wait, are you laughing at me?”
“Riki,” you said, finally catching your breath, “that was the worst poem I’ve ever heard. But…thank you.”
He perked up. “Wait, so you liked it?”
“No,” you said, still laughing. “But I appreciate the effort.”
Sunoo leaned against the doorframe, shaking his head. “Man, she just told you your love poem is trash, and you’re still smiling. That’s commitment.”
Riki shrugged, his grin returning. “Hey, at least she laughed. That’s a win in my book.”
“You don’t even like books,” Giselle reminded him.
“Shut up, Giselle.”
As the meeting wrapped up, you couldn’t stop smiling. Riki’s poem might’ve been terrible, but his effort wasn’t lost on you.
Maybe, just maybe, there was more to him than his over-the-top confidence. And judging by the way he looked at you, he wasn’t planning on giving up anytime soon.
The Unfortunate Art Class
It was one of those days where everything that could possibly go wrong would go wrong, and for Riki, it was a day where his attempts to woo you went from embarrassing to downright disastrous. It all started in art class.
Riki had been practicing his sketching-well, more like pretending to practice-while thinking about how he could impress you next. He’d tried singing (and failed), created a disastrous potion (also a failure), and now, he figured, it was time to move on to something different: art.
“Yeah, I’m a man of many talents,” Riki muttered to himself, casually flicking his pencil across his notebook. He’d signed up for art class, mostly because it was a “chill” subject and because he knew you would be in there. You were always so effortlessly cool while sketching, and Riki thought that maybe, just maybe, if he could draw something beautiful, you’d finally take him seriously.
It was a flawless plan, in theory.
Except for the fact that he was absolutely terrible at drawing.
As you walked into the room, Riki immediately straightened up, trying to act casual while pretending to concentrate on the absolute mess of a sketch he was working on. It looked like someone had thrown a bunch of spaghetti at the paper and then tried to pass it off as “modern art.”
You glanced over at him. “What’s that supposed to be, Riki?”
Riki froze, his pencil hovering over the page. He glanced at his work and then back at you, trying to cover up the chaos he’d created. “Uh, it’s… it’s a modern interpretation of… love?”
You squinted at the scribbles, unsure whether he was being serious or if this was another one of his random, ridiculous attempts to impress you. “A modern interpretation of love?” you asked, not hiding your amusement. “It looks like a blob of mashed potatoes got into a fight with a pencil.”
“Excuse you,” Riki said, puffing out his chest. “It’s abstract.”
“Oh, I see,” you said, nodding, “I didn’t realize ‘abstract’ meant ‘I-don’t-know-how-to-draw-a-stick-figure’.”
Riki groaned, his face turning bright red. “It’s art, okay? You wouldn’t get it.”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t want to get it,” you said with a teasing smile. “I’ve got better things to do than trying to decode your spaghetti disaster.”
Riki sat back in his seat, sulking, and that’s when his art teacher, Mr. Han, walked up to inspect his work.
“Ah, Riki,” Mr. Han said, adjusting his glasses and peering at the page. “Interesting… piece.”
“Thanks, Mr. Han,” Riki said, looking proud for a second, before Mr. Han continued.
“It’s… very… unique.”
Riki’s smile faltered. “Is that a good thing?”
“Well,” Mr. Han said slowly, “the concept is ambitious, but I think you might want to, you know, work on making things… recognizable?”
Riki’s face fell. “Okay, okay, but it’s modern, Mr. Han. It’s supposed to be about the chaos of love.”
Mr. Han raised an eyebrow. “Sure, but love’s supposed to be nice, not this. I think you’re looking for a different kind of love.”
And with that, he walked off, leaving Riki to stew in his misery.
“See? Told you,” you said from across the room, still chuckling under your breath.
“Shut up,” Riki muttered, throwing his pencil down in frustration. “It’s harder than it looks, okay?”
You shrugged, grinning. “Well, if this is your idea of love, I think I’d rather be single.”
Riki slumped in his chair. “Yeah, well, I’m sure you’d love that.”
As the class went on, Riki couldn’t help but sneak glances at you while pretending to concentrate on his new abstract “art.” He kept thinking of ways to get you to notice him, to actually like him. The potion was a bust, the karaoke disaster still haunted him, and his art was more of a crime scene than anything else.
But then, like a bolt of inspiration, it hit him. He didn’t need to be good at drawing. He didn’t even need to be good at singing. What if he just pretended to be good at something else? Something you liked?
That’s when he saw it-on the shelf near the back of the room. The most perfect thing he’d ever laid eyes on: the class’s art supplies. Specifically, a pack of colored markers. He quickly grabbed one, then another, and another, all while ignoring Mr. Han’s suspicious gaze.
“I’m going to do it,” he whispered to himself, suddenly determined. “I’m going to draw her the most beautiful picture she’s ever seen.”
Thirty minutes later, Riki proudly presented his latest masterpiece to you. He walked over to your desk, a big grin on his face. “Ta-da!”
You looked at the picture, then looked back up at him, and tried to hide your reaction. Riki had drawn what could only be described as… a stick figure of you, holding a giant heart with “I <3 U” scrawled inside it. Around you, Riki had drawn himself, in what he considered a romantic pose, though it mostly looked like he was having a seizure.
You blinked, trying to process what you were looking at. “Riki…”
He watched eagerly, his eyes wide. “What do you think? I’m going to call it ‘Love in Motion’.”
Your eyes flicked from the picture to Riki’s hopeful expression. “It’s… well, it’s certainly… something.”
Riki’s smile faltered. “Something good?”
“No, definitely something,” you said, biting your lip to keep from laughing. “It’s the most abstract thing I’ve ever seen. I didn’t realize you were such an avant-garde artist.”
Riki let out a dramatic sigh. “Great. You don’t get it again.”
“But hey, at least you didn’t include mashed potatoes this time,” you said, still chuckling under your breath.
“That’s it, I’m done!” Riki snapped, storming away from your desk.
“Come back! I’ll keep it!” you called out, still smiling. “You might need to work on the anatomy, though.”
After class, as Riki was leaving with his defeated art supplies, he caught up with his friends.
“Dude, what was that? Did you just draw her a stick figure of you two?” Jake asked, holding his stomach from laughing so hard.
“It’s called art, okay?” Riki muttered. “It’s supposed to be deep.”
Sunghoon, who had been walking behind him, raised an eyebrow. “The only thing deep about that is your delusion.”
Riki groaned, his shoulders sagging. “Why does she have to be so… perfect? I keep trying everything and it’s just not working.”
“You’re trying too hard, man,” Heeseung said, slapping him on the back. “Maybe you should just chill out a bit and be yourself.”
“Yeah, because ‘myself’ is an artless, tone-deaf disaster who can’t draw a stick figure right,” Riki said bitterly.
“You’re a work in progress, that’s for sure,” Sunghoon added.
Meanwhile, you were walking with your friends, holding onto the “art” Riki had given you. You glanced at it one last time and grinned.
“You know what?” Karina said. “That might just be the worst thing I’ve ever seen, but I kinda think it’s sweet.”
“I think it’s cute that he keeps trying,” Giselle agreed. “He’s a mess, but at least he’s trying.”
“Yeah,” you said with a soft smile, “but you’ve got to admit, his failures are kinda entertaining.”
Julie raised an eyebrow. “But what if you did give him a chance?”
You rolled your eyes but smiled. “Maybe. But for now, I’m having too much fun watching him crash and burn.”
The Desperate Measures
Riki had hit rock bottom.
He was no longer just the awkward, cringe-worthy guy trying to impress you with grand gestures. Now, he had become… desperate. Desperate to the point where he was willing to go behind your back and ask your friends for advice-terrible, absolutely terrible advice, which he took way too seriously.
It all started one afternoon during lunch. You were sitting with your friends, Karina, Giselle, and Julie, chatting and laughing about some random school gossip. Riki, seated at a table nearby with his basketball crew, could not stop staring at you. Every time you laughed or smiled, it felt like a small dagger to his heart-but in a good way-because, you know, he was in love.
But this was it. He was done. He couldn’t keep pretending to be casual about it. He needed a real plan. He needed help.
After a few minutes of overthinking, Riki made up his mind. He could already imagine how amazing things could be if he just figured out how to get you to like him back. His friends had tried to help, but every time he took their advice, he ended up making things worse. This time, he was going straight to the source: your friends.
He’d seen Karina, Giselle, and Julie talking to you during lunch, so he mustered up all the courage he had and casually walked over to their table. He cleared his throat dramatically.
“Hey, ladies,” he said with a grin that looked more like a nervous twitch. “What’s up?”
Karina raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, hey Riki. Didn’t know you were interested in joining our table.”
“I wasn’t,” Riki replied, a little too quickly. “I just need… uh… some advice. About her.” He nodded towards you, trying to be discreet.
Giselle smirked, clearly knowing exactly what he meant. “Oh, you mean Y/N?”
“Yes,” Riki said, clearly desperate. “How do I… get her to like me?”
There was a moment of silence as the three girls exchanged amused glances. They were all fully aware of Riki’s crush on you, and each one of them had been watching his attempts from the sidelines, laughing and waiting for the inevitable failure. But now that Riki was asking them for help, they were more than ready to give him advice.
Julie leaned forward, her voice low but full of mischief. “Well, Riki,” she began, “the thing is, you’ve gotta show her that you’re different from the other guys. You know, stand out in a way that makes her think you’re… special.”
“Oh, totally,” Riki said, nodding eagerly. “I can do that.”
Karina chimed in next. “Also, be unpredictable. You know, surprise her. Do something she won’t see coming. Maybe like, I don’t know… show up to class with a puppy or something.”
“Wait, a puppy?” Riki asked, confused. “Like, you’re saying I should just-”
“Yeah,” Karina interrupted, leaning back in her seat. “It works every time. Who could resist a cute dog? I mean, think about it. You walk into the room with a puppy, and she’ll melt. Instant win.”
Riki’s eyes lit up. “A puppy… right. Got it.”
“Also,” Giselle added, “don’t forget to be mysterious. Like, when you talk to her, keep it vague. Don’t reveal everything about yourself all at once. Make her curious.”
Riki took notes in his mind. “Mysterious, yes. Vague. Keep her guessing.”
Julie winked. “And don’t forget to compliment her, like, all the time. But make it subtle, you know? Like, I like your vibe or you’re different from everyone else. Keep it casual. Don’t sound desperate, even if you are.”
Riki nodded so furiously he nearly gave himself whiplash. “Right. Keep it casual. Subtle compliments.”
“And most importantly,” Karina said, her voice suddenly turning more serious, “don’t let her see you sweat. Even if everything’s going horribly wrong, just act like it’s no big deal.”
Riki took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. “Okay. Okay, I can do this. I’ll do everything you said. Thanks, guys.”
As he walked away, he was practically glowing with optimism, as if this was the breakthrough he’d been waiting for. What could possibly go wrong?
Later that afternoon, Riki put his plan into action. He had managed to convince his cousin to lend him a tiny puppy (who was far too energetic for Riki’s lack of experience with animals), and he had every intention of marching into your class with that puppy in tow. He had his compliments prepared, his mysterious vibes ready, and his subtle confidence locked and loaded.
He walked to your classroom, puppy in hand, his heart pounding in his chest. The puppy squirmed in his arms, clearly not impressed with Riki’s handling skills, but he was too focused on you to notice. He entered the classroom and immediately caught your attention.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said, trying to sound cool but still managing to squeak a little. “Look what I got.”
You looked up from your seat and blinked. “Uh, what’s that?”
Riki proudly held up the puppy. “A puppy. I thought it’d be a fun surprise.” He flashed a grin, trying to channel his best “mysterious” energy.
You looked at the puppy for a moment before looking back at Riki, your expression unreadable. “Why are you showing me this?”
Riki’s smile faltered for a second, but he quickly recovered. “Because, you know, puppies make people happy. And I thought… I thought you’d like it.”
You raised an eyebrow. “You got a puppy for me?”
“Yeah,” Riki said, still grinning, but now it was starting to feel forced. “Just, you know, to show I care. And that I’m different.”
You stared at him for a moment, clearly confused, before glancing at the puppy again. “Well, it’s cute, I guess. But, uh, where’s the rest of it?”
Riki blinked. “What?”
“You know,” you said, deadpan, “usually when people get puppies, there’s like, a point to it. Like, you’re adopting it. Or… giving it away. Are you just borrowing this puppy for a vibe check or…?”
Riki froze. He hadn’t thought that far ahead. “Uh…” He turned the puppy around and tried to make it do something cute, but the puppy only managed to chew on his sleeve. “Well… yeah, I mean, I just thought I’d bring it by. You know, to impress you.”
“Impress me with a dog?” you asked, looking genuinely perplexed. “That’s… a first.”
Riki’s face turned bright red. He wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. This was nothing like what he’d imagined. He could hear his friends’ advice echoing in his mind: Make her think you’re special… Keep it mysterious… Compliment her subtly.
Instead, here he was, holding an unruly puppy that was completely sabotaging his “plan.”
“Uh, Riki,” you said, breaking the awkward silence, “I gotta go. Maybe next time you try impressing me, you could leave the puppy with its owner and just, I don’t know, talk to me like a normal person.”
Riki stood there, watching you walk away, the puppy tugging at his sleeve like it, too, was trying to escape.
Later that evening, Riki found himself sitting in his room, utterly defeated. He had tried everything. The puppy was a disaster. His mysterious vibe was nonexistent. And when he’d tried to compliment you earlier, it had come out as awkward rambling.
But what hurt the most? The lies his friends had told him.
“I thought a puppy would be enough to impress her,” he muttered to himself, staring at the ceiling. “I don’t get it.”
The Game-Changing Disaster
Riki had spent the entire week psyching himself up for this moment. It was the biggest basketball game of the season, and everyone was talking about it. The energy in the gymnasium was electric, and the entire school was buzzing with excitement. All eyes were on Riki, the star player of the team, and he was determined to use this opportunity to finally, finally impress you.
He had it all planned out. He wasn’t just going to play well-no, no, no. He was going to dedicate his performance to you, and in doing so, he would show you how much he cared. This would be the moment where everything would fall into place. All those awkward attempts, the puppy fiasco, the art class embarrassment-it would all be worth it once he made you notice him in the most epic way possible.
The game had started, and Riki was already in the zone. He was running up and down the court, weaving between his teammates and opponents, effortlessly sinking shots and making assists. The crowd roared in approval, chanting his name. He was on fire. This was his time to shine. The only thing left was to make sure you saw it all.
As the game went on, Riki began scanning the crowd, looking for you. He spotted Karina and Giselle waving their hands frantically from the bleachers, but that wasn’t what he was focused on. No, his eyes were locked on you-sitting in the third row, looking effortlessly cool with your friends, totally unaware of the storm of emotions Riki was experiencing from the court.
His heart skipped a beat. This was it. This was his big moment. He could feel the weight of the ball in his hands, the adrenaline coursing through his veins. As he dribbled past an opponent and took a quick glance at the crowd to make sure you were watching, he had an epiphany: he would dedicate this final shot to you.
“I’m gonna do it. I’m going to win this for her,” Riki whispered to himself, a smile creeping onto his face. “She’ll see. She’ll finally see how much I care.”
The clock was ticking down, and Riki could feel the heat of the game intensifying. The score was close, and the final seconds were approaching. His teammates passed him the ball, and he was wide open for a shot. This was the moment.
As he dribbled toward the basket, Riki suddenly had the thought of you in his mind. He could almost hear the crowd cheering for him, but all he could focus on was you. This is for you, he thought as he took the jump shot.
And that’s when it happened.
Right as Riki was soaring through the air, preparing to make the perfect shot, his gaze shifted back toward you in the stands-just in time to see you laughing with your friends. Why is she laughing? What’s so funny?
And that was the fatal mistake.
In his distraction, Riki misjudged his footing. He stumbled mid-air, his legs flailing wildly as he lost control of his balance. The crowd went silent for a moment as they watched Riki completely biff it mid-court. In one glorious second, he went from being the hero to the clumsiest guy on the court.
Riki’s foot caught on the floor, and with a loud thud, he crashed onto the hardwood, his body sprawled out in a full-on disaster pose. The ball, meanwhile, ricocheted off the backboard with the precision of a rock skipping across a lake, missing the hoop entirely and landing at the feet of a very confused player from the other team.
For a brief moment, there was a stunned silence in the gym. Everyone, including Riki, seemed to be in shock. His teammates stood frozen, and even the opposing team stopped mid-play.
Riki slowly pushed himself up from the floor, his face redder than a tomato. His heart was pounding, and he felt like crawling into a hole and staying there forever. The gym slowly erupted into laughter, and he couldn’t tell whether they were laughing with him or at him-he suspected the latter.
“Riki!” one of his teammates, Jake, shouted in disbelief. “What the hell was that?!”
Riki just groaned, clutching his forehead in embarrassment. “I… I wasn’t looking where I was going,” he muttered, utterly defeated.
From the bleachers, Karina, Giselle, and Julie burst into laughter. “I knew he’d mess it up,” Karina laughed, nudging Giselle.
“I didn’t think he’d do it this spectacularly, though,” Giselle added. “At least he can’t blame the puppy this time.”
Riki was too mortified to even respond, his mind still stuck on that disastrous fall. He was supposed to be impressing you, not doing an impromptu audition for a slapstick comedy show. He couldn’t even face you, especially after you’d probably seen the entire thing unfold.
But then, as he stood up, trying to salvage some shred of dignity, he heard the sound of someone clicking a camera.
“Hold up,” a voice called out from behind him. It was Sunghoon, his ever-sarcastic teammate. “I think I got a shot.”
Riki turned around, his eyes wide with horror. “Sunghoon, no.”
“Oh yeah, I got this for sure,” Sunghoon said, flipping his phone in his hands. “This is gold.” He held up his phone, showing Riki the photo-an image of Riki in mid-fall, mouth wide open, and arms flailing in a way that could only be described as pure chaos.
Riki’s face went pale. “Are you serious?” he asked, horrified.
“I’m not just serious,” Sunghoon said, grinning. “This is my new favorite thing to pull up whenever you start acting all cocky about your skills.”
“No, Sunghoon, don’t you dare-”
But it was too late. Sunghoon already had a plan in mind. “You can’t be mad at me when this is priceless. If you ever try to pretend you’re a smooth operator again, I’ll be pulling this up on my Instagram story.”
Riki’s stomach dropped. He could already imagine the comments: “Riki the basketball pro, more like Riki the human trampoline”, or “When you try to impress someone but end up impressing the floor instead”.
As the game continued, Riki couldn’t focus. He was too embarrassed to even think straight. His team managed to win the game despite his epic fail, but he couldn’t find any joy in the victory. Instead, he was consumed by one thought: How could he make it up to you after this disaster?
After the game, Riki sulked back to the locker room, avoiding his teammates’ teasing and pretending to focus on changing into his regular clothes. But he couldn’t stop thinking about you. What had you thought when you saw him crash like that? Was he still embarrassing? Was there any chance he could salvage what little dignity he had left?
And then, his phone buzzed.
It was a notification from Instagram. He opened it up, and his heart sank.
There it was-the photo that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Sunghoon had uploaded it, complete with a hilarious caption.
Riki groaned and buried his face in his hands. He knew that he would never live it down.
School Festival Chaos
The school festival was a legendary event every year-one of those days where the entire school came together to put on extravagant booths, games, and performances. The air was thick with the smell of food, the laughter of students, and the constant hum of excitement as people rushed from one event to the next. This was the day Riki had been waiting for.
The day he would finally win you a prize.
Riki had spent the past hour going from one booth to another, determined to prove to you that he was capable of doing something right for once. He had so many chances to impress you-so many games to win, so many prizes to grab. But despite his best efforts, he kept coming up short.
At the first booth, he tried to win a stuffed bear by throwing darts at balloons. Simple, right? Well, apparently not for Riki, whose aim was so off that he might as well have been throwing the darts with his eyes closed. The booth attendant was trying to hide their smirk as they handed him a consolation prize: a tiny rubber spider.
“Great,” Riki muttered, clutching the spider like it was the most embarrassing thing he’d ever touched. “Perfect for impressing Y/N.”
At the next booth, it was a ring toss, and this time, he was determined. The objective was simple-get the ring on the bottle, win a prize. It was foolproof. That is, until Riki threw the first ring, which somehow flew over the booth, narrowly missing someone’s head and landing in the bushes.
He stared at the ring as if it had betrayed him. I swear, I’m getting closer each time, he thought, trying to maintain his optimism.
After several failed attempts, he walked away from the booth defeated, feeling like a man who had lost his dignity in the process. But no! He couldn’t give up now! He had to keep trying. He had to show you he could win something, anything.
Meanwhile, you had been watching from the sidelines with your friends-Karina, Giselle, and Julie-amused by Riki’s increasingly desperate attempts.
“Is Riki… trying to win prizes for you?” Karina asked with a raised eyebrow, a teasing grin on her face.
Giselle snorted. “He’s been at it for, like, an hour. I thought this was supposed to be easy for him.”
Julie chuckled. “I don’t know, I’m just here for the chaos. This is honestly better than the game last week.”
You, however, couldn’t help but feel a little bad for him. Sure, it was funny, but it was also kind of cute in its own way. It wasn’t every day that someone was this determined to impress you.
Riki finally stumbled over to a prize booth that seemed like it was perfect for him: a giant basketball hoop toss. The sign promised a grand prize-an oversized plush lion. And you had mentioned before how much you loved lions.
This is it, Riki thought. This is my moment. She’ll finally be impressed. I can do this.
He stepped up to the booth, the prize looming large in his mind. His hands were shaking with nerves as he grabbed the basketball. It wasn’t a real one, of course, just one of those cheap foam balls you could get at a carnival, but Riki didn’t care. He was already envisioning himself handing you the giant lion, your face lighting up in admiration.
With a deep breath, he tossed the ball.
It missed the hoop entirely.
Riki groaned and let his shoulders slump. He watched in horror as the ball bounced off the edge and rolled across the floor, completely out of his reach.
“Nice try!” the booth attendant called out with forced enthusiasm. “Would you like to try again?”
Riki waved them off, his spirit broken. “No, I think I’ve had enough for today.”
From across the way, you saw Riki standing at the booth, looking absolutely defeated. Despite his continuous failures, you couldn’t help but smile. It was hard not to appreciate his effort. It was like he was trying so hard that it had become almost endearing-almost.
“Riki’s been at this for ages,” Giselle commented, watching him walk away from the booth, dejected. “This is gonna be a disaster if he keeps at it.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at the situation. “It’s like he’s determined to impress me, but in the worst way possible.”
Karina shot you a playful look. “Maybe you should help him out.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Help him? With that? He’s got this.”
But then you thought about it for a second. He was clearly trying so hard. And although he was failing miserably, you could see the genuine intent behind it.
“You know what?” you said, standing up. “Maybe I’ll show him how it’s done.”
You walked over to the same booth Riki had just left, where the attendant gave you a casual smile as you approached.
“Hey, what’s up?” they said. “You looking to win a big prize?”
“Yeah,” you replied with a smile, “I’ll give it a shot.”
Riki, who had been walking in the opposite direction, noticed you standing at the booth, ready to give it a go. His heart immediately started racing. What was this? You? Playing the basketball hoop toss? He couldn’t believe it.
This is going to be embarrassing, he thought. If she wins, it’ll be like rubbing salt in the wound.
But then something surprising happened.
You grabbed the foam basketball and made your first shot. It swooshed perfectly through the hoop.
Riki froze. “No way.”
You grabbed the ball again. Shot two. Swish.
His jaw dropped. “Wait, what?!”
You continued, effortlessly making shot after shot, as if you had been practicing for this exact moment. In just a few seconds, you had hit the required number of successful shots, and the attendant handed you the giant lion plush.
Riki stood there, stunned.
“Uh, well,” you said with a smirk as you approached him, the massive lion in your hands. “Guess you need to work on your aim a little more, huh?”
Riki could only blink, a mix of shock and admiration on his face. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “You… you really just did that.”
You handed him the lion with a grin. “I figured it was the least I could do after watching you fail so many times.”
He took the lion from you, blushing deeply, feeling like the biggest fool on the planet. “I… I thought I could get it for you. You know, so you could be impressed with me.”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “I am impressed, just not for the reasons you think.”
Riki’s blush deepened as he hugged the oversized plush to his chest, too embarrassed to look you in the eye. “Thanks. I don’t deserve this… but thank you.”
You smiled warmly at him. “It’s nothing, really. You were trying so hard, Riki. That counts for something.”
Riki stood there, holding the giant lion in his arms, his mind completely overwhelmed by how much he cared about you-and how much he wanted to make you proud. Maybe he wasn’t perfect, but at least he was trying, and he was getting closer to impressing you, even if it wasn’t the way he expected.
Later that day, as the festival continued, Riki’s friends couldn’t help but tease him about what had happened.
“I knew you were gonna lose,” Jake said, snickering.
But Riki just laughed along with them, holding the giant lion proudly. “Yeah, yeah. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. But hey, at least she won me a prize.”
His friends gave him a knowing look, but he didn’t care. He was content just knowing that you had finally noticed him.
Confessions Gone Wrong
It had been a few days since the school festival disaster, and Riki had barely been able to think of anything else. Despite his epic failures, there was one thing that kept him going-you. He’d been replaying the whole day over and over in his head, and it hit him like a ton of bricks: he had feelings for you. Big, gigantic, overwhelming feelings.
Now, he had to tell you.
It was time to confess.
Riki sat in the cafeteria, fidgeting nervously with his hands. His mind was racing a mile a minute. What if you said no? What if it was super awkward? What if you laughed in his face? He didn’t know why he thought confessing was a good idea in the first place. It was way too risky. But no, he couldn’t chicken out. He had to do this.
His friends, however, seemed to have other ideas.
“You got this, man,” Heeseung said, clapping Riki on the back. “Just be straight with her. Say something like, ‘I like you.’”
“Yeah, man,” Jake added, leaning in from the side. “Don’t overthink it. Just… do it.”
Riki stared at them blankly. “You guys don’t understand. I’m not just telling her I like her, I’m… I’m confessing. This is big. This is… important.”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. “Is this like, a romantic confession or more of a ‘I’d like to take you to dinner sometime but also I might die of embarrassment in the process’ type of deal?”
“It’s… both,” Riki mumbled, his mind swirling in confusion. “I don’t know, I just-”
“You know what would really work?” Jay interrupted, his voice suddenly deadly serious. “You gotta be like, ‘I don’t know what’s happening between us, but I just can’t stop thinking about you.’ You know, make it sound deep. Like you’ve been contemplating it.”
“Yeah, like you’re having an existential crisis about it,” Sunghoon chimed in. “Like, ‘I’m not sure if I’m alive or just existing without you.’ It’ll make her swoon for sure.”
Riki’s face turned crimson. “What? No, that’s way too much! I just want to say something simple!”
“Fine, fine, okay,” Heeseung said, shrugging. “Here’s the thing, bro: when in doubt, just make it funny. Humor is everything. You don’t want to come off too serious, like you’re trying too hard, right?”
“That’s true, but also, you gotta act confident,” Jake added. “Like, you’re the catch here, you know? Show her that you are the one who should be adored.”
“Got it,” Riki said, though he was starting to feel more overwhelmed than before. “Just be funny and confident. Easy.”
After what felt like an eternity of pep talks from his friends, Riki finally spotted you sitting at your usual table, chatting with Karina and Giselle. He took a deep breath, straightened his back, and made his way over to your table, trying his hardest to look cool. His heart was pounding, and his palms were sweaty. This was it-he was finally going to confess.
As he approached, your friends gave him a knowing look, but you remained completely unaware of what was coming.
“Hey, Y/N,” Riki greeted, standing awkwardly in front of your table, his fingers twitching nervously. “Can I, uh, talk to you for a sec?”
You looked up, your expression warm and friendly. “Sure, what’s up?”
Riki cleared his throat, trying to appear calm. “Okay, so, um… this is a bit hard for me to say, but… I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and…”
And then, just as he was about to continue, he felt the eyes of his friends boring into him from across the cafeteria.
“Say something smooth!” Heeseung mouthed from behind you, giving him an exaggerated thumbs-up.
“Don’t mess up!” Sunghoon whispered, and Riki swore he saw him holding up a fake phone to his ear like he was recording it for blackmail.
His heart rate picked up, and in the middle of the intense pressure, he completely forgot the smooth, confident line he’d planned. Instead, all that came out of his mouth was:
“Do you wanna, like… hang sometime?”
Your expression didn’t change, and Riki was already bracing himself for the awkward silence when-
“No, wait! I mean, bang…! I mean-!” Riki slapped his hand over his mouth immediately, realizing what he had just said. He blinked, stunned by his own words, and then the horror set in. He had just asked you-asked you to hang-and then he accidentally blurted out bang?!
You stared at him, your eyes wide in shock, and then… you burst out laughing. It was a genuine laugh, the kind that made Riki’s face burn with embarrassment.
“You… you want to-what?!” you gasped between laughs, clutching your stomach. “Did you just-”
“No! No, I meant hang out!” Riki sputtered, shaking his head frantically. “I swear, I didn’t mean to say that! I’m-Oh my God, this is so embarrassing…”
“Did you just..bang?” Karina asked, unable to hold in her laughter, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Riki, are you asking Y/N to… what, exactly?”
Riki wanted to die right there. This was it. This was his confession. He had just managed to make a fool of himself in front of you in the worst way possible.
“Bro, you gotta stop digging,” Jake said, face-palming from across the cafeteria. “This is like watching a slow-motion train wreck.”
Your laughter died down, but you still had a grin on your face as you wiped away the tears from your eyes. “I… okay. You really know how to make a confession memorable, I’ll give you that.”
Riki stared at you, trying to process what had just happened. “I swear, I didn’t mean that. I was just trying to say something simple and-”
“Yeah, you definitely kept it simple,” you teased, giving him a playful wink. “I think this is the most creative confession I’ve ever heard.”
Riki buried his face in his hands. “Oh my God, I’m never living this down, am I?”
“Honestly?” you said, leaning back in your chair, looking far too amused for Riki’s liking. “I think I’d rather hang out with you than bang...”
“You’re killing me here,” Riki groaned, his face bright red. “I swear, I’m going to die from secondhand embarrassment.”
But you just smiled, a mischievous glint in your eyes. “It’s okay, Riki. I get it. You’re nervous. You can always try again… just, you know, without the ‘bang’ part.”
“Yeah, bro,” Sunghoon piped up from behind, clearly enjoying every moment. “You gotta learn how to do this without sounding like a walking disaster.”
You turned to your friends, still chuckling. “Honestly, though, I think this is the best confession I’ve gotten all week.”
Riki raised his head and gave you a weak smile. “Well, at least it’s memorable.”
“You’re telling me,” you quipped. “In fact, this might just go down in history as the most awkward confession of all time. But hey, at least you didn’t say something worse, right?”
Riki wanted to die, but at the same time… he didn’t. Despite the awkwardness, despite his humiliation, there was something about the way you were teasing him-playfully, not mean-spirited-that made him feel like he might actually have a chance.
Later, as Riki trudged back to his friends, who were all practically rolling on the floor in laughter, he couldn’t help but smile through his embarrassment. At least you didn’t hate him. Maybe, just maybe, he had a shot at getting it right next time.
The Panic Panic
It was another regular school day-well, as regular as a school day could be when Riki was still trying to recover from his disastrous confession. He was walking to class, still embarrassed, but at least he was trying to act like nothing happened. His friends kept bringing it up every chance they got, but for the most part, Riki had learned to laugh it off… well, at least he pretended to laugh it off.
You, however, were always on his mind. It was impossible not to think about how cute you were when you laughed at his confession. It wasn’t mean, just funny in a way that made him feel a little less terrible. Plus, he loved how you didn’t seem to mind his blunders, and honestly, that made him want to impress you even more.
That afternoon, as Riki was sitting at lunch with his friends, he noticed Julie staring at him with a mischievous grin on her face. She was sitting with you, Karina, and Giselle at the table, clearly plotting something.
“Hey, Riki,” Julie said, voice dripping with sarcasm. “You know, I’ve been thinking… Y/N really deserves someone special, don’t you think?”
Riki froze, his heart skipping a beat. “Uh… yeah?”
“Yeah!” Julie said enthusiastically. “But you know, she might need a real man, you know? Someone who actually knows how to talk to her and doesn’t mess up their confessions in the most cringe-worthy way possible.” She smirked, raising an eyebrow.
Riki could feel his face heating up. “Oh, come on, it wasn’t that bad, was it?”
Julie winked. “Well, the whole bang thing was a little… memorable. But don’t worry! Maybe I should just set her up with someone else, someone who could actually sweep her off her feet.” She leaned back in her chair, giving Riki a teasing look. “What do you think? Should I hook her up with, like, Sunghoon or someone? He does know how to talk to girls.”
Riki’s eyes widened in panic. No way-he couldn’t let that happen. Not after everything he’d been trying to do. He had to prove he was the better option.
“No! No way, I-I mean, no! I’m totally… totally better than Sunghoon!” Riki blurted out, his words tumbling over each other. “I mean, I’ve got this! I know I messed up last time, but I can fix it! I can prove I’m… I’m a good choice! Way better than Sunghoon. Way better.”
Julie raised an eyebrow. “Really? You? Prove it, then.”
Riki looked over at Sunghoon, who was sitting with his friends across the cafeteria, casually chatting. He had his usual confident smirk on his face, like he could talk to anyone without even trying. Riki felt a spike of jealousy. Of course, Sunghoon was perfect. He was always smooth with the ladies.
But there was no way he was going to lose this.
“I can do it,” Riki muttered, more to himself than to anyone else. “I can… I just need to do something that’ll really impress her. Something big. Like, heroic.”
Giselle, who had been listening to the whole conversation, let out a laugh. “Heroic? Riki, do you even know what that word means? You barely survived your confession last week!”
“Oh, shut up, Giselle,” Riki snapped, puffing out his chest. “I’ve got this. I’m going to do something so impressive, she’ll forget all about the ‘bang’ thing.”
Julie grinned. “Sure, sure. Go ahead, then. I’d like to see how you plan to outdo Sunghoon.”
Riki, determined not to back down, stood up from his seat. “Watch and learn, everybody. Watch and learn.”
After some thought, Riki had what he thought was a brilliant idea: he would impress you with something athletic-something that would highlight his strength and talent. He couldn’t just be the awkward guy who messes up his words. No, he was Riki, the basketball star. Surely that would be enough, right?
Later that afternoon, Riki found you standing near the school gym, talking to Karina and Giselle. His heart skipped a beat. This was it. He had already seen Sunghoon playing basketball earlier, and he knew he could do better. He was definitely better.
“Hey, Y/N!” Riki called, jogging over to you with a grin plastered on his face. “You like basketball, right?”
You turned to him, looking mildly curious but not too interested. “Yeah, I mean, I guess. Why?”
“Well, I was thinking, maybe we could… I don’t know, shoot some hoops together?” He tried to sound casual, but his voice cracked at the end.
Karina raised an eyebrow. “Are you seriously asking her to shoot hoops with you?”
Riki shot her a glare, clearly ignoring her. “I’m totally fine with it, no pressure. I can show you some of my sick tricks.”
You raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained by his sudden enthusiasm. “Sick tricks? Like what?”
Riki grinned, feeling an overwhelming surge of confidence. “Like, watch this!”
Without waiting for a response, he jogged over to the basketball hoop. He grabbed a ball, dribbled it a couple of times, and then made a jump shot from a distance. The ball flew through the air, and… hit the rim.
It bounced off and fell straight to the ground.
Riki’s face immediately turned red. Okay, that wasn’t supposed to happen. He picked up the ball and tried again, only for it to miss the hoop entirely and roll across the gym.
“You got this, bro!” Sunghoon yelled from across the gym, watching with his usual smug grin. “Totally nailed it!”
You and your friends burst out laughing. Even Karina couldn’t hold back.
“You know, you really should’ve stuck with your original plan,” Giselle said, still snickering. “You know, the ‘just talk to her and don’t say anything weird’ plan.”
Riki stood there, trying to recover from his failed attempt, but now he was sweating. This was not going according to plan. This was supposed to be his big moment. Instead, it felt like a huge disaster.
“I-uh, okay, okay!” he said, finally looking back at you. “I can do better. I’ll-wait for it.”
You looked at him with an amused expression, barely holding back another laugh. “You sure you’ve got this, Riki? I’m not sure this is the ‘heroic’ moment you had in mind.”
Riki’s face was so red he could’ve passed for a tomato. “No, no, I’ve got this! Just-just wait!”
Julie, who had been watching from the sidelines, gave him a slow clap. “Oh, look, it’s the basketball star. Never mind, Sunghoon’s got this one, right?”
Riki felt a surge of panic. No, he couldn’t let this happen. He needed to redeem himself, and fast. He looked at you again, the pressure mounting. “Okay, okay, let’s-let’s just hang sometime. Maybe we can… actually do something fun. How about… a movie? Or something?”
You smiled, clearly enjoying watching him flail. “Sure, we can hang. But if you’re going to keep embarrassing yourself like this, I’m definitely going with Sunghoon next time.”
The panic that flooded Riki’s chest was almost unbearable. He was getting crushed by his own nerves and the weight of your expectations. No way was he going to lose to Sunghoon. He had to step up his game… but how?
Karina's Makeover Plan
The school dance was just around the corner. The buzz of excitement and nerves filled the hallways as everyone began preparing for what was sure to be a night full of glitter, lights, and, of course, a lot of questionable dance moves. For some students, the thought of attending the dance was an exciting prospect. For others, like Riki, it was the perfect opportunity to do something incredibly dumb for the sake of impressing you.
“Okay, listen up,” Karina said one afternoon as she pulled you aside after school, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “The dance is coming up, and you need a makeover. No more hiding in the background like some cute but invisible wallflower. It’s time for you to shine, and I-” She gave a dramatic pause, “-am the one who’s going to make that happen.”
You blinked, unsure if Karina was serious or just playing one of her usual pranks. “A makeover? Karina, I’m fine. I don’t need-”
“Nope, not happening,” she interrupted, her arms crossed and a determined look on her face. “You deserve to feel amazing. Plus, I need you to show Riki just how incredible you really are, especially now that he’s been-how do we say it?-failing miserably at everything.” She gave a dramatic roll of her eyes.
You groaned. “You seriously think Riki is the reason for all of this?”
“Well, yes! He’s a mess, and it’s obvious,” Karina said, her tone as blunt as ever. “But a makeover will give you that extra oomph to make him realize that you’re not just some girl who trips over her words. You are a force to be reckoned with.”
Reluctantly, you agreed. It wasn’t like you had a choice in the matter when Karina set her mind to something. You had a feeling she had already gathered a whole team of “makeover” supplies without even asking you for input.
The next day, you found yourself sitting in front of Karina’s full beauty arsenal-a bunch of hair tools, makeup, and the most fashionable clothes she could dig out of her closet. It felt like something straight out of a high school makeover montage, but you couldn’t deny that Karina had a way of making things work.
“You ready for this?” Karina asked, flashing you a grin. “We’re going to take Riki’s mind off every embarrassing thing he’s done. After this, he’ll be so smitten, he won’t know what hit him.”
You raised an eyebrow, skeptical but willing to go along with it. “Do you think this will actually work?”
Karina winked. “Trust me, it’s foolproof.”
Hours later, the transformation was complete. Karina had somehow managed to do her magic, and you looked… well, different. Your hair was perfectly styled, your makeup was subtle yet striking, and your outfit? Stunning. You barely recognized yourself in the mirror. You looked like you belonged in one of those high school romantic comedies where the quiet, shy girl takes off her glasses and suddenly turns into the hottest girl in school.
You turned to Karina, unsure of how to feel. “This… I look like I’m about to star in a drama.”
“Exactly!” Karina replied, her voice filled with pride. “You’re going to slay, trust me. Now, get out there and make Riki wish he had never messed up that confession.”
As you walked down the hall toward the dance, you could feel everyone’s eyes on you. It was like the world had suddenly stopped, and all attention was on you. You spotted Riki in the crowd almost immediately. He was with his friends, standing near the snack table, looking as if he were discussing the most important thing on the planet-most likely how he could redeem himself from his last attempt to impress you.
The moment he saw you, his entire demeanor shifted. His eyes widened, and his jaw went slack. His friends immediately noticed his reaction.
“Dude,” Sunghoon said with a knowing grin, “you’re drooling.”
Riki didn’t even seem to hear him, still staring at you in absolute awe.
“I think he just short-circuited,” Sunoo said, his voice dripping with sass. “Like, seriously, bro. He’s just standing there like a puppy who’s been hit by a bus.”
“Wait for it,” Jay said, eyes glinting with mischief. “He’s gonna try to walk over and make a move. Let’s see how he screws this up.”
Sure enough, Riki started to move toward you, his feet awkwardly shuffling in the most un-Riki-like way possible. His friends exchanged knowing glances.
“Here we go,” Jake muttered, sipping his drink. “This is gonna be good.”
As Riki approached, his face was flushed with excitement-or maybe panic, it was hard to tell. He took a deep breath, trying to act cool. “Hey, Y/N,” he said, his voice coming out slightly higher than usual. “You, uh, look… wow.”
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “What, no bang this time?”
Riki winced, the memory of his previous mistake still fresh in his mind. “I-uh, no. I meant to say you look amazing, like, wow, incredible. Seriously. I mean, you always look good, but tonight-whoa.”
“Thanks,” you said, trying not to laugh at how flustered he was. “It’s Karina’s work, so you know it’s dangerous when she’s involved.”
Riki chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Karina really knows how to… transform people. You look so-” He paused mid-sentence, clearly struggling to put his thoughts into words.
“Like a goddess?” Sunghoon called out from behind Riki, earning an eye roll from Riki in return.
“Shut up, Sunghoon,” Riki muttered, his face now entirely red.
You couldn’t help but smile. “Don’t worry, Riki. I’m used to people staring at me like I’m a foreign species after a makeover.”
“That’s not the point,” Riki blurted out, finally gaining some semblance of confidence. “I-uh, I think you look amazing. I mean, seriously. Like, wow.” He nodded emphatically, and you could tell he was trying way too hard to not look like a complete disaster.
“You’re killing me here, Riki,” Sunoo said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “You’re acting like you’ve never seen a girl before.”
“Yeah, bro, relax,” Sunghoon added. “She’s just a person, not a whole new species.”
“Shut up, both of you!” Riki snapped, clearly annoyed but still unable to pull his eyes away from you.
You couldn’t help but laugh, feeling a little bit of satisfaction. You had managed to break him in the best way possible, and honestly? It was kind of hilarious. But there was something else, too. Something more than just amusement. You liked that Riki was so flustered by your appearance. Maybe, just maybe, he was starting to realize how much he actually liked you.
“Well, thanks for the compliments, Riki,” you said, a teasing smile on your face. “I’ll take it as a win, considering how awkward you’re being right now.”
“I’m not awkward!” Riki insisted, but even he could tell that his voice had a higher pitch than usual. He was a mess, and he knew it. “I-uh, I just wasn’t expecting you to, you know, look like that. You’re… wow. Really wow.”
“And I think he’s short-circuited again,” Sunoo added with a sly grin, earning laughter from the rest of the group.
Riki buried his face in his hands, embarrassed beyond belief. “I’m never going to live this down, am I?”
As the night wore on, Riki’s attempts to act cool around you only became more ridiculous. But secretly, deep down, you kind of liked it. There was something about his awkward charm that was endearing, even if it made him seem like a nervous wreck every time you were near.
The dance was just beginning, and Riki was clearly trying to muster up the courage to ask you to dance. Would he succeed? Or would he trip over his own feet like usual? The tension was real, but you couldn’t help but feel a little excited to see where this would go.
Mutual Feelings
The days after the school dance were quieter than usual. The whirlwind of awkward moments, and teasing had settled down a bit. But there was something in the air now, something that wasn’t there before-the heavy, palpable feeling of anticipation. You could tell that Riki had changed. He still teased you, still tried to impress you in the silliest ways possible, but now there was a certain realness behind it. It wasn’t just a game anymore. It wasn’t just about winning your attention. No, he was genuinely trying to show you how much he liked you.
And while you pretended not to notice, you couldn’t help but feel the same way. You’d always been the quiet girl, the one who stayed in the background and let things unfold. But the more you saw Riki’s awkward, goofy charm, the more you realized that maybe, just maybe, you weren’t quite as indifferent as you thought.
It was after school one day, and you were walking down the hallway with Karina, Giselle, and Julie. The air felt heavy with the usual chatter of students, but something about today felt different. As you reached the end of the hallway, you saw Riki leaning against the lockers, his friends gathered around him as usual. His eyes locked onto yours immediately, and a slight blush crept onto his cheeks.
Karina nudged you with a teasing smile. “So, are you just gonna keep pretending like you don’t see him, or are you finally gonna admit that he’s been getting to you?” she whispered, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
You rolled your eyes, but your heart skipped a beat when you saw Riki standing there. He wasn’t even trying to hide the way he looked at you anymore-his gaze was open, hopeful, maybe even a little vulnerable.
“Let’s just go,” you muttered, trying to play it cool. But before you could take another step, Riki called out to you.
“Y/N!” His voice was a little too loud, a little too eager. “Can I talk to you for a sec?”
You stopped in your tracks, your heart doing an odd little flip. You glanced at your friends, who were suddenly far too interested in their shoes, and then back at Riki.
“Sure,” you said, trying to sound casual, though you were anything but. You walked over to him, arms crossed, trying not to look too affected by his presence.
Riki shuffled awkwardly, clearly nervous. His usual cocky demeanor had melted away, leaving a more vulnerable version of him. It was almost adorable. He glanced down at the floor before looking back at you, his eyes softer than usual.
“Look,” he started, taking a deep breath. “I’ve been trying to figure out how to say this for a while, but I guess… I just need to say it now.” He ran a hand through his hair, looking ridiculously nervous.
You tilted your head, trying to act like you didn’t already know exactly what was coming. “Riki,” you said, your voice light, “you’re starting to sound like you’re about to give a big speech. Just get to it.”
Riki’s cheeks flushed even deeper, and he shifted from foot to foot like he was trying to find the courage to continue. “I-uh-I’ve liked you for a while. Like, a long while,” he admitted, his words coming out in a rush. “I know I’ve been acting like an idiot. I’ve probably messed up more times than I can count. But I really, really like you, Y/N.”
The air between you two felt thick, like time had slowed to a crawl. You blinked, trying to process what he had just said. You had known, of course, but hearing it out loud? It sent a strange warmth spreading through your chest.
Riki laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well… I really am terrible at this, huh?”
You shook your head, a soft chuckle escaping your lips. “Not terrible. Just… maybe a little too dramatic. But it’s kind of cute.”
Riki’s eyes widened, and for the briefest moment, it looked like he was holding his breath, waiting for you to say something else. “Cute?” he repeated, as if the word had just been a huge revelation.
You gave him a look, suddenly feeling a little more serious than you’d intended. “Yeah. You’re cute, Riki. But you’re also incredibly frustrating. I’ve had to watch you stumble through all of this… and I’ve liked you for a while, too.”
Riki’s mouth dropped open. “You liked me? But-wait, you knew?”
You smirked. “Riki, I’m not blind. I’ve noticed. But I didn’t want to just say it out loud, especially when you were trying so hard to not tell me.”
He grinned, the embarrassment melting away into something much more comfortable. “Well, I guess it’s nice to know I wasn’t just making a fool of myself for nothing.”
“You weren’t,” you replied softly. “But… just so you know, I think you’re the one who’s been making a fool of himself, not me.”
Riki’s face lit up with that stupid, goofy smile of his. “Hey, I’m fine with that. As long as it means we’re, you know, on the same page now.”
You nodded, feeling your heart do a little happy flip. “Yeah. Same page.”
Just then, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and the rest of the gang came walking down the hallway, practically hovering near Riki like they’d been waiting for the moment.
“Finally!” Sunghoon grinned, crossing his arms. “We’ve all been waiting for this.”
“Yeah, seriously, you two are so obvious,” Sunoo added with a smirk. “Took you long enough.”
Riki groaned, but you could see the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “You guys were just as bad as I was, you know?”
Sunghoon laughed. “It was cute seeing you struggle, honestly.”
Riki sighed in defeat. “Alright, alright, I get it. I’m obviously a mess.” He looked at you, his expression softening again. “But at least I’m a mess with you now.”
You grinned back, the tension finally lifting. “Yeah, you are.”
As the group started walking toward the exit, Riki fell in step beside you. And for the first time in a while, it felt like the two of you weren’t just stumbling through this whole “relationship” thing. Maybe, just maybe, you were actually getting it right.
The Big Gesture
It had been a few weeks since the two of you had finally confessed your feelings, and everything felt like it was falling into place. The awkwardness was mostly gone, though Riki still couldn’t help but occasionally embarrass himself in the most hilarious ways. But now, it wasn’t just about the silly moments. It was about the real stuff-the moments where you could finally be yourselves without all the drama. Well, except for the good drama.
But Riki? Riki had been planning something. He wasn’t going to let things just coast along. No, he had to do something big, something memorable. He had been listening to all the advice his friends had been giving him-well, most of it anyway-and he had decided to take action. This time, he was going all out.
It was a Friday afternoon, and you were in your usual spot with Karina, Giselle, and Julie at lunch. You were chatting about the upcoming weekend plans when suddenly, you felt someone’s eyes on you.
You looked up to find Riki standing at the edge of the cafeteria, surrounded by his usual group of friends. But he wasn’t looking at you like usual. No, he was smiling-grinning, even-like he had some kind of secret. And that secret? You were about to find out.
He waved at you, his arms flailing in a way that made you almost roll your eyes. “Y/N! Come over here, I need to talk to you!”
You glanced at your friends. “What’s he doing now?”
Karina snickered. “I have no idea, but I’m ready for the drama. Let’s see what stupid thing he’s pulled this time.”
“Probably something that involves a microphone and a dance-off,” Giselle joked. “You know, classic Riki.”
But you stood up, curiosity getting the better of you. “Alright, alright. I’ll go see what this is about.”
When you reached Riki and his friends, they all looked at you with wide grins, clearly trying to hide something. Sunghoon was the first to speak up, his usual sarcasm oozing out. “Hey, Y/N. How’s it going? You know, Riki’s been planning something for you… and it’s definitely not a disaster. Not at all.”
Sunoo raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, no pressure. Totally foolproof plan here.”
You gave him a skeptical look. “What are you guys up to?”
Before anyone could answer, Riki suddenly stepped forward, his face almost serious-except for the small, nervous twitch in his eye. “So… I’ve been thinking about this for a while. And I figured it was time I did something big. You know, for you. Something that, uh… shows you just how much I like you.”
You blinked. “Wait, what? Are you serious? What are you planning?”
Riki grinned, a little too confidently. “Well, I can’t give everything away. But trust me, you’re gonna love it. Just meet me after school on the rooftop.”
You were about to say something more, but before you could, Sunghoon quickly added, “It’s going to be great. Just-no more questions. Just go.”
“I don’t trust any of you right now,” you muttered, but you agreed to meet him anyway. You were curious, after all.
Later that afternoon, as the school bell rang, you found yourself walking up the steps to the rooftop, your heart pounding a little faster than you’d like to admit. The rooftop was quiet, the sun beginning to set in the distance, casting a golden glow across the school.
As you reached the top, you saw Riki standing near the edge, his back turned to you. The breeze ruffled his hair as he turned to face you, his eyes twinkling with excitement and nervousness all at once.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice more serious than usual. “Thank you for giving me the chance to, well, be me around you. I know I’ve been a total mess… and yeah, I’m still not the best at this whole ‘romance’ thing. But I want you to know that you mean a lot to me.”
You were silent for a moment, your heart swelling at his words. He was so Riki-awkward, goofy, but somehow perfect in his own way.
Riki stepped forward, pulling out a small envelope from his pocket. He handed it to you with a nervous smile. “I wanted to write something for you. I thought maybe if I just, you know… talked about it, it wouldn’t have the same effect. So, um… here.”
You opened the envelope, reading the letter that he had written. It was sweet, surprisingly heartfelt, and completely Riki-filled with awkward metaphors about basketball and weird references. But underneath it all, it was clear that he meant every word.
“Riki,” you said softly, a smile tugging at your lips. “This is… this is sweet. And kind of embarrassing, but mostly really sweet.”
He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “Well, I mean, I didn’t think you’d want some perfect love letter. I wanted it to be real.”
You set the letter down on the ledge beside you, taking a deep breath. “I’ve always liked you, you know. I just… wasn’t sure if you were serious. But now? I think I get it. You’ve really put yourself out there.”
Riki’s eyes widened, and he took a step closer, a goofy smile spreading across his face. “So, does that mean…?”
You laughed softly. “Yeah, Riki. It means yes.”
There was a brief moment of silence, a beat of nervous energy in the air. Then, almost without thinking, Riki leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a soft, sweet kiss. It was like the entire world paused around you. There was no one else around, no interruptions, just the two of you.
It wasn’t some grand, dramatic kiss like you’d seen in movies. No, it was better. It was the kind of kiss that felt real, warm, and full of promise. The kind of kiss that told you that maybe all the embarrassing moments, the awkwardness, and the goofy gestures were worth it because they led to this moment.
When you pulled back, Riki was grinning like a fool. “So, uh, I guess that means I did the right thing, huh?”
You laughed, your heart still fluttering. “Yeah. You did.”
And just like that, the rooftop, the sunset, and the world seemed to align perfectly for both of you.
As you both made your way down the stairs, the rest of the gang appeared, jumping out from behind corners, from every direction-like they had been waiting for this exact moment.
“FINALLY!” Sunghoon yelled, throwing his hands up. “Took you two long enough!”
Sunoo smirked, crossing his arms. “I told you he’d pull this off. He’s actually not an idiot.”
Jake nodded seriously. “Riki? Actually doing something romantic? Who would’ve thought?”
Riki groaned, clearly embarrassed, but you just smiled, your hand slipping into his as you walked back down the hallway.
“You guys seriously had to follow us, huh?” you said with a playful eye roll.
Karina, Giselle, and Julie were standing nearby, all grinning like fools. “We knew this was coming,” Karina teased. “Just didn’t know it’d be so sweet.”
Julie grinned. “Honestly, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say Riki’s finally got his act together.”
And that was the moment-no big gestures needed, no speeches, just the quiet understanding that, in the end, everything had worked out. You’d both found something real, something worth celebrating.
And even though the teasing and jokes from your friends never stopped, you didn’t mind anymore. This was just the beginning of something amazing.

“My perfect Marionette~.”
Shadow Milk Cookie HCs
‧₊˚ 🩻 ✮⋆˙ ₊˚🎧⊹⋆。𖦹 °
“Oh, mister wolf, you want me to stay? But I fear we’ll regret it one day.”
TW: slight spoilers(mainly tame), possible yandereisk themes, SM being a morally evil cookie (who all we love), mention of violence/death, slightly suggestive ( aka biting and stuff, but nothing NSFW), this is mainly fluffy, etc..
CW: Shadow Milk Cookie, other CRK characters ( such as Pure Vanilla cookie, the other beast, etc.. ).
Based on @dedfly ‘s CK/SM x anon art, maybe check them out since they’re honestly awesome and deeply underrated! These HCs are mainly romantic, but can be platonic dating depending on your preferences. BTW, the reader will have they/them pronouns for gender neutral reasons.

-Let’s get it out of the way—yes, he’s the jealous type. Whenever he sees you around the other cookies (expect for the beast cookies, he’s cool with the gang), he automatically pouts before shooting a glare at whoever dares to even breathe your air. Of course, you always calm him down with butterfly kisses.
-As evil as your man is, only you can insult him. So whenever a cookie tries to say something, you often end up beating that said cookie while Shadow Milk Cookie places his hands on his cheeks with a playful smile. It’s like he gets a power trip off seeing you defend him, he either becomes a playful ass: “Baaaabe, staaaawp, you know I’m shy!!” or be your personal cheerleader, doing whole choreographed works while you beat someone up.
-Often, he dresses himself up all pretty whenever you two go outside for a date as to show off to other cookies. Mainly wearing jester related clothing, but making sure to stand out. If you praise him, he always lets out a smug scoff saying that obviously he’s the handsomest cookie to live!… only to ask you to repeat the praise again, basically fishing for compliments.
-Yes, he has fangs which he proceeds to nibble on your fingers. Like a cat, biting is a love language he enjoys, but unlike Burning Spice Cookie, he isn’t going to bite your face off, so it’s only mildly annoying to you. Most of the time, you find the jester only leaving soft and light marks on your fingers and at worst, he takes a playful nibble of noise. Again, he is nothing compared to Burning Spice Cookie.
-When he confessed to you, he did it through a puppet play and you cannot believe how long it was. He plan out the whole puppet wedding, domestic life, how we could kill million of cookies as a present for you.. you know, the usual! Anyways, he was over the moon when you accepted and return his feelings.
-He has odd gifts, alright? Look, he’s tried getting tips from Eternal Sugar Cookie herself, but the gifts are not the best. Most of the time, you end up getting gifts such as a bouquet of cookie’s (still beating) hearts, designing fancy outfits for you, and so on, so on.. either way, Pure Vanilla has to force him to get you normal gifts even if the Beast whines.
-Long story short, he’s a ♾️/10 and you cannot convince me otherwise. Of course, he’s not the best, but he’s trying his best! Basically, you two are cutie pies who love each other.

all of the girls you loved before – a. hotchner
[warnings: none]
summary: in which y/n is grateful for aaron's experiences – inspired by all of the girls you loved before by taylor swift

main masterlist
You've heard the stories before, the whispered mentions of the women that had come before you. Each one left a mark on him, a trace you sometimes wondered if you could see in the way he moved, the way he held you when you felt his steady hands against your back. Aaron Hotchner didn't often talk about them, but in the quiet moments, their presence lingered like a ghost in the room, a history you couldn't touch but could feel.
It wasn't jealousy, exactly. It was more the weight of knowing you weren't his first love, that he had lived entire lifetimes before you. Maybe you'd catch him staring off into the distance, his jaw tight as memories flickered across his face. You never pried, though the questions sometimes bubbled at the back of your throat. He would have told you if he wanted to, you reminded yourself.
But tonight was different. Tonight, something between you shifted.
You were sitting together on the porch, the soft hum of autumn night air around you, the distant sounds of traffic on the street below a low murmur. The team was away on a case, but for once, he wasn't. He had stayed behind, citing exhaustion, though you knew it wasn't just about fatigue. He needed time. Space. And you were here for him, silently offering the support he rarely let himself ask for.
Aaron sipped his drink, his fingers grazing the glass as he looked out into the darkened sky. You followed his gaze, wondering where his mind had drifted this time. His silence wasn't unusual, but there was a tension tonight that made the air between you feel thicker than usual. Finally, he spoke, his voice soft, like he wasn't sure he was ready for the words.
"I don't think I've ever told you about Haley."
His ex-wife. You'd heard her name before, of course, but he rarely mentioned her. Even now, years after her death, the grief still hung in his eyes when he did. You turned slightly, giving him your full attention, heart tightening as you prepared yourself for whatever he needed to say.
"She was... everything to me. For a long time." He let out a breath, his thumb tracing the rim of his glass. "And when I lost her, I didn't think I could feel that way again. About anyone."
You didn't speak, just listened, knowing this wasn't something you could fix. This was something he had to let out, piece by piece.
"I wasn't looking for this, for us." His eyes met yours, and for a moment, the world stopped turning. "But somehow, you're here."
He shifted, setting his drink aside and taking your hand in his. His fingers were warm against yours, grounding you as his gaze softened, the weight of years of pain and love swirling in his eyes.
"I used to think the past would always have this hold on me, that I'd never be able to let go of all the girls I loved before. But then I realized... they led me here. To you."
Your breath caught, the weight of his words pressing into your chest. You didn't need him to explain further. You knew what he meant—that every love, every loss, every heartbreak had shaped him into the man sitting beside you. And somehow, through all of it, he had found his way to you.
He squeezed your hand, a silent reassurance that he was here, with you, now.
"I don't regret any of it," he continued, his voice quieter now. "Because without it, I wouldn't have you. And that's something I wouldn't trade for anything."
The tears welled in your eyes before you could stop them, the emotion of his confession wrapping around your heart. You'd always known there was a part of him that would forever belong to the past, to Haley, to the life he had before. But now, hearing him say it, you realized it wasn't about competing with those memories. It was about understanding that you were part of his story now, a chapter he hadn't expected but cherished all the same.
You leaned in, resting your head on his shoulder as he pulled you closer, the unspoken understanding settling between you. There was no need for more words, not tonight. You both knew that love wasn't about erasing the past—it was about accepting it, embracing it, and realizing that every step along the way had led to this moment.
And in that moment, you realized something too.
You were glad for all the girls he loved before, because without them, without everything he had been through, you might never have found your way to him.
And now that you had, you weren't going to let go.
[AN: oh hey... I think I'm going to do febuwhump to get out of my writing slump. I'll keep you guys updated. I also have a ko-fi account now??? no pressure but it's link in my navigation and here! and of course... my taglist. lmk your thoughts. love you byeee]

Series Masterlist
Your employees are gathered around you as you display your next creation, the dessert of the month at Fiction & Frosting.
"This is the perfect Mille-Feuille," you show them. "Puff pastry, cream, fresh strawberries.."
You tear your glance away from the glossy page in the cookbook and force yourself to gaze upon your own creation: the puff pastry is wilted, the icing is melted, and no amount of fresh fruit decoration can save it.
"So why doesn't mine look like that?" you pose the frustrated question to yourself.
Suggestions are made, recipe changes offered, and you listen to each one, still amazed at how you haven't mastered such a simple dessert. You don't even want to think about the macarons you had to dump out after they burned. ("Shit. They're utter shit," you murmured as you tossed them in the bin.)
With the bakery open everyone moves to their assigned spots and you're free to stay in the kitchen in the back, pondering why you're making so many mistakes. There's no doubt about it, you're not in your right mind. You haven't been okay since the night Dave kissed you.
A sharp twist of wistfulness lodges itself into your heart when you pull out your phone to see he hasn't texted or called. Two weeks of no contact. Then again, you haven't really reached out to him either, afraid of his icy demeanor.
When he'd finally come by to pick up his car, you weren't home. You'd hoped for at least a glimpse of him, but he probably timed it so that he wouldn't have to see you. You can't help feeling pity for yourself for that.
With a sigh you take a bite of the awful mille-feuille. It isn't that bad, just not very presentable, probably because you weren't paying attention. You were never this scatterbrained in your work when Javier was being his idiotic self, so why is this married man taking up so much space in your brain?
"Friendly? Is that what you want me to be? Just friendly?"
His words ring in your ears, a taunting tune. What if you'd said no? What if you'd given in to your true feelings and slept with him that night? Would you be swimming in guilty feelings now instead of wondering What If?
Could you just push aside your doubt and reach out to him? Even if it's just to selfishly calm the torment of being away from him?
Girl, you're talking like you're in love with him.
You push the thought away, not ready to peek inside that particular Pandora's Box. Avoidance is easy for you, you've perfected the art of looking the other way when Javier fucked every woman in sight.
You check your phone again, but the only recent text you have is from your sister, who's trying to talk you into doing a pastry course in Paris, part of her school's program that's doing an art course there as well over the summer.
Years ago you would have jumped at the chance, despite what Javier would do to get you to stay. But now you feel you have nothing to keep you here, even if it is only for two months. You've told her maybe for the time being. You still have a few weeks to decide.
Scrolling back to your texts with Dave, you feel a loneliness there that cuts deeper than your split with Javier. Led by your desire to do what's right, what you want more than anything is to renew your friendship with Dave.
Taking a deep breath in and letting it out, you shut your mind off and let your body take over as you mill about the kitchen, gathering bowls and utensils, turning on the oven and pouring ingredients.
Across the street, Dave's in a meeting with a potential client. Another scorned woman, another broken heart. Unlike with you, he feels a detachment from her. He's here for business, and he's damn good at what he does.
The new client, a young woman who's giving him lascivious looks from beneath her false lashes, is giving him obvious signals. She's leaning forward to show off her generous cleavage, and he should earn an Academy Award for pretending that he doesn't feel the slide of her silk stocking-ed foot under the hem of his pants, against his shin. She must sense his disinterest because she takes it up several notches when she places her palm on his upper thigh, practically begging for it.
He refers her to another lawyer, politely passing her off to his lucky cohort before going back to his office to reassess.
If he was younger and still in this same predicament with Carol, he wouldn't have given her blatant come-ons a second thought. But it's not his wife who keeps him from forsaking his marriage vows. It's you.
Sighing, he puts his hands in his pockets and goes to the window, seeing your bakery/bookstore across the way. He imagines you scurrying about, a dusting of flour on your face as you roll a rolling pin across a lump of dough, and straightening the shelves to showcase a new book coming out. He hopes you're not thinking of him, then he kills that hope and tells himself he wants you to think of him the way he's thinking of you.
He pushes down any second guesses about the situation you're both in, and puts on his jacket as he leaves the office, heading straight for your building.
You wrap your green sweater around you as you make your way on the crosswalk connecting your side of the street in his. An olive branch in the form of a cake in a mint green pastry box is in your hands. Your heart races as you wonder if he'll even see you after all that's happened, but those worries drop down and die when you spot him in the crowd walking towards you. There's a twinkle in his eyes as he spots you, and he smiles.
He's on his way to your place, to say hello and see if you're willing to talk to him. He wants to set things right, and the moment he lays eyes on you in that white floral dress and green sweater, your hair held back in matching ribbon, his heart (and his dick, if he's honest) react in a very positive way.
Both of you meet in the middle, the crowd rushing around you on either side, but neither of you take any notice of them. Time stops for a brilliant, beautiful moment.
"I was on my way to you," he says.
"I was bringing this to you," you tell him. "To say sorry."
"There's nothing to apologize for. Really, I'm to blame."
"A lawyer accepting blame? Won't you get disbarred for that?" you joke.
He laughs at that, and the sound of it sets your heart alight. "So that's for me?"
"Yeah.. black forest cake. I remember you told me it's your favorite."
Maybe it's the way the breeze gently lifts the ends of your hair, or the luscious curve of your cherry lips, but he will think of this moment, this small act of kindness, for the rest of his days.
The crosswalk is empty and the light's about to change. And the first thing that comes out of his mouth is, "I think Carol's cheating on me."
You quickly bring him back to the cafe where you pour him a cup of strong black coffee with a splash of amaretto added from your stash in your office.
He spills his guts to you: Carol's leaving at random times, more often at night to go to "work". He wonders how often a hospital director is needed overnight. He's called, on a whim, just to see if she's really there, but is always given the "she's here but she's unavailable" runaround.
You ask if she gets dressed up for these late night work shifts, if she wears perfume and makeup. (Yes to all.)
Does she shower right after coming home? Has she shown less interest in having sex? (That question really hurts to ask, but you can't help a little selfish joy when he answers that they haven't been intimate in a long time.)
"Maybe she's spending time doing something else," you tell him, your cake untouched on both your plates in front of you. "Maybe she wants time away from you and the kids and is too afraid to say it."
"That sounds like her. She's always put her job first," Dave says glumly.
You hate seeing the dispirited look on his handsome face. "You should talk to her about it. Come on, use some of those lawyering skills you're so famous for," you smirk.
"It's like talking to a brick wall," he quips, leaning forward to enjoy his cake. "I'm actually sorry I even brought it up."
"Don't be. If it's important to you, it's important to me." You pause. "Can I admit to doing something stupid?"
"Are you asking for confidentiality priveleges? Because that only counts if I'm still representing you," he smirks.
"Ha ha," you roll your eyes. "The night you left my place.. I ended up going to Javier's."
"Oh." He puts his fork down, jealousy nibbling away at his rational thought. "Did you..?"
"Yeah," you nod, lips pursed. "I got what I needed, but it wasn't really the same anymore, you know? I didn't feel anything for him."
You lighten the mood by telling him about poor Cindy, the way karma had played the Uno reverse card on her.
A little smile curls the corners of Dave's mouth. "I could write a book on how much I hate that guy."
It's a good feeling to spill to him the secrets of your soul. But what you refrain from telling, the one thing that could turn around and bite you, is that while you were in Javier's bed you were thinking of Dave.
Carol has been gone for a couple hours, the aroma of her perfume still lingering in the air of their en suite bathroom as Dave brushes his teeth and gets ready for bed.
Laying there alone, as he's used to by now, his thoughts drift to you. His heart is full now that you've reconciled, and even though he has a feeling there's always going to be complicated feelings, he takes the risk because you're worth it.
Your smile, the light in your eyes when you laugh, how your fingers always find a way to brush against his or your hand rests on his arm. The way you kissed him back that one night is burned into his brain. The taste of your mouth has become his new favorite flavor, at least until he can taste another part of you-
Stop it.
With a deep sigh he takes his phone from the nightstand and does a quick search. Not his first rodeo, what he's seeking is already colored purple as he's accessed it many times. When the porn site pulls up it offers every scenario anyone could possibly want, but he has something very specific in mind.
He searches by your features, looking for an actress similar to you, trying to avoid the guilt settling in the pit of his stomach. What would you think of him if you knew? But he's already getting search results, salivating over the thumbnails of women who bear a passing resemblance to you in various positions, scantily clad or even just naked.
Selecting one, his heart pounds in a drumlike fashion as he waits for it to load, the site's short theme song filling him with anticipation, his dick already raging hard. Getting lost in the unlikely scenario between the two actors, he strokes himself, pajama pants pulled down over his thighs. He turns the volume down as low as possible, the moans and sighs barely audible. But after awhile he doesn't even need the video. Just the memory of you is enough, and better than any video.
And then, as if she has a sixth sense for when her husband is trying to meet his needs, Carol comes in and he quickly puts his phone away and stops what he's doing.
"Were you watching smut again?" she sighs in exasperation.
Dave flushes with embarrassment, but he's not going to lie about it. "Yeah, I was," he shrugs, pulling his pants up. Carol just shakes her head and goes straight into the shower, another tally mark in Dave's mental stack of evidence against her.
She comes out later, freshly scrubbed, wearing her usual nighgown and applies some cream to her elbows, facing away from her husband. "If you're going to watch anything crazy just put your earbuds in, okay?" With a heavy sigh she gets into bed next to him and lays on her side, her back to him.
He doesn't even give her the satisfaction of answering. As if he could even get hard in this moment. He lays awake in the dark, staring at the ceiling, wishing himself anywhere but here.
Carol's voice, unusually soft, finds him in the dark. "I think you're having an affair," she accuses.
His heart jumps in his chest. Is there something she knows? Has he been careless? Has she had him followed and been seen with you? He sits up. "An affair? Are you serious? Why would you think that?"
She sits up too, ready to accuse him further. "We haven't had sex in weeks. You're always too tired."
He has no defense for that, but it's not as if things are entirely his fault. "I've just been busy. And tired," he adds. "Besides, your'e the one always running off to work at strange hours."
She huffs. "Are you really going to use my job as an excuse? You're never in the mood.. do you not find me attractive anymore?"
"Of course I do.. you're still the same gorgeous woman I married."
"Then kiss me. Right now."
He's taken aback by the sudden command, surprised by the directness of it. "What?"
Carol lays back down. "The man I married wouldn't hesitate like that."
A pang of guilt flares in Dave's chest. She's right, but as her accusations have gone no further he rests in the meanwhile safety. "I'm just tired," he mumbles, head falling onto his pillow, his back to her and her back to him.
"So am I," she answers, a cold finality in her tone.
The next evening while Carol's out of town for a conference. When he's called into the office on an emergency case, he asks if you're free to keep an eye on the girls. With nothing else to do, you happily accept, and spend the day baking chocolate chip cookies and watching their favorite movies.
By the time Dave comes home in the late evening, the three of you are watching the classic version of Cinderella. He smiles at the domestic little sight, heart warming at the brief fantasy that this could be what he comes home to every night.
As the girls fall asleep between you, Cinderella meets her handsome prince at the ball. "So This Is Love" plays while the fated lovers dance. Your hand and his find their way across, gently clasping.
And just like Cinderella, it's almost midnight and you have to go. But not before cleaning up, even though Dave insists he's fine to do it on his own.
From her bedroom, Alice calls out for her daddy, and you both go up to see what's the matter.
"I want a glass of water," she mumbles. Dave smiles at her groggy little voice and goes to fetch her a cup. While he's gone you sit on the edge of her bed and she shows you her stuffed animal collection, her favorite one is a purple unicorn named Mr. Fluffy.
"Where's Mommy?" she asks when her dad comes back with a cup of water for her.
He ruffles her hair. "She's just working late tonight, kiddo. She'll be home soon."
"Is she with Uncle Joel?"
Dave's heart drops but he covers his surprise just in time. "What do you mean, baby? Who's Uncle Joel?" Carol's an only child. The girls don't have any uncles on her side.
"He's Mommy's friend who comes to fix the pipes," she says, chugging her water before getting back under the covers.
He forces a smile, sitting between you and her on the bed. "Does Uncle Joel come over a lot?" he asks innocently.
"He comes when you're not here. Mommy tells him you can't fix them, Daddy. Only Joel can."
A thousand thoughts swarm his head but he's used to keeping his cool in unexpected situations. "What happens when he comes over, sweetie?" His voice is still calm and even, belying the fear constricting his gut.
"He talks to Mommy in private. She giggles a lot."
The dots are connecting and not in a good way. A man in my house, the house I bought because Carol liked it so much, shaking the mud off his boots like it's no big deal before doing god-knows-what with my wife.. His blood runs cold as he wears his facade once more. "Okay, sweetie, why don't you get some sleep. I'll make some cinnamon waffles for breakfast tomorrow."
Alice nods excitedly, then looks at you. "Will you eat breakfast with us tomorrow?"
Shaken by what she's revealed so far you do your best to give an answer. "Uh, we'll see, honey. Maybe." Your smile is strained but she doesn't seem to notice.
Leaving the bedroom door open just a crack he walks down the hall, running his hand over his face.
"Kids," you force some light-heartedness into your words. "They have such big imaginations, you know?"
He doesn't answer you, his back turned to you as he hides his face in his hands.
"Are you okay, Dave?" you place a tentative touch on his shoulder.
Finally he turns to you, face reddened with an anger he never thought he'd have to feel. "My youngest daughter just told me that my wife has been having another man over to the house behind my back. Alice is a bright girl but she wouldn't invent a story like that."
"Hold on," you tell him gently, your hands on his biceps, willing him to loosen up, even just physically. "You don't know anything for certain. Just hearsay. Right, Mr. Big Shot Attorney?"
Your attempt at humor only gets you a bitter laugh from him.
"Is it possible Carol's just friends.. with a plumber?" you speculate. But of course you don't believe it either.
Dave narrows his eyes at you for a moment before realizing nothing about this is your fault and you're just trying to help. The moment that you step into his arms they immediately close around you. He marvels at how you fit together so perfectly.
"You should talk to her when she comes home," you suggest, not moving an inch from his embrace. The last thing you want to do is give him marriage advice when it's a real possibility that his wife could be unfaithful.
"Somehow I doubt she'll be amenable to an honest discourse on her fidelity," he grumbles, not wanting to think about her, shutting the bad feelings away while you're in his arms.
You inhale the scent of him, the warm spice of his lingering aftershave. The spark between you only intensifies. You're tempted to press your lips to his strong, soft neck, you can already imagine his pulse point racing beneath your lips.
When he pulls away it snaps you out of your fantasy, and you are acutely aware of the heat blooming between your legs, the slick pooling in your panties.
"How about a private investigator?" you ask.
He shakes his head as if he's already thought of it. "The only ones I know are in a professional regard. I don't want it bandied about that I've had to resort to surveilling my own wife."
"In that case it's your lucky day. I know a guy."
After emailing the pertinent information to your contact, he's at Dave's address within half an hour.
Clad in a classic tan trenchoat, white button down with hastily done striped tie and black trousers, Tim Rockford looks every bit what Dave had expected. The former detective sizes up his prospective client from behind thick black eyeglass frames before turning to you with a soft smile. Tim often does background checks for your employees, and you trust him with an even more personal task like this.
"Are you David York?" the man asks, a to-go cup of coffee that's going cold very fast is in one hand and his briefcase in the other.
"Yeah, I am," Dave answers. "Come on in."
The three of you settle in the living room. "Now, tell me about why you want me to surveil your spouse," he says, getting down to brass tacks.
Seated next to you, Dave explains his situation, the late nights that Carol's had to go in, the mention of "Uncle Joel" by his daughter. He leaves out the part about him spending much of his time with you possibly contributing to the lack of affection in his marriage, and you keep quiet as well.
Soon Tim has all the information he needs to move forward. He has Carol's work address, and will do some digging on the Joel fellow. "It'll take a couple weeks to get some basic information, given they're still meeting each other. I advise you not to start any arguments or accuse her of anything in the meantime or it'll risk ruining the investigation. If she catches wind that you're onto her, she may change her plans or even call it off with him altogether. For the time being, just play dumb."
Dave nods, even though he doesn't like it.
"There is a fee, of course," Tim adds. He writes the number on a scrap of paper and Dave, sighing, accepts.
"He was on the force for over a dozen years," you tell him. "It'll be money well spent. Even if there's nothing going on."
"Whatever is going on, I'll debrief you at our next meeting once I've collected the proper evidence," Tim says.
It's a plan set in motion, and Dave isn't really sure what he wants the outcome to be. If Carol's fucking around, he gets his heart broken. If she's not, it's even worse. Because now he knows he'd leave her for you.
A/n: So yeah, two more Pedro boys in the mix.. yes it is that Joel 👀One of y'all needs to come get your man because he's filling holes that aren't his 🫢And Tim! I've been waiting to bring him to the story ❤️

Do you have any thoughts on how Gale might interact w an ace Tav? Obviously the sexual aspect seems to be very important to him and idk I wonder what others think his thoughts will be when thats not really a possibility for them
Anon I have to confess, this is a great question but it’s one I found difficult to answer, and I apologize to the other anon ask(s) I’ve received in a similar vein that I was unable to respond to!
To be clear: I don’t find it difficult to answer because I think Gale’s response would be lacking and/or you would be disappointed by what I believe he would say, that’s not it at all. There is absolutely ZERO chance that Gale would learn Tav is ace, throw up his hands and say, ‘well then, this relationship simply won’t work!’ Zero chance. None.
This is the man who commits himself to Karlach and confesses his love when they cannot touch or hold hands. And while, yes, they both would like to do that and more, at that point in the game they have no way of knowing if they will actually get to fix Karlach’s engine or if it will be possible in the future. And yet Gale still fully commits himself to Karlach and tells her that a night stargazing with her is the greatest gift he could ask for.
The difficulty I have is that I know being ace is a widely varied and nuanced experience for each individual, and I am unsure how to express Gale’s response in a way that would be accurate and inclusive, without over-simplifying it. (Essentially, the fault lies with me and my inadequate words.)
What I CAN confidently tell you is that Gale’s response would be perfect. He would be loving, supportive and enthusiastic about his relationship with Tav, and he would be delighted to work with them to figure out exactly what it looks like in the long run, in a way that they both are happy with—whether it involves no physicality, some physicality, no intimacy, some intimacy, intimacy redefined in a way that they both agree to, bonding over shared knowledge, or bonding over shared experiences (stargazing, perhaps?) etc, etc.
TLDR; Gale will gladly enter into a relationship with an ace Tav because Tav means so much more to him than just physical connection.
One final note! @an-excellent-choice received a similar ask and wrote a lovely response that I think is very true to how Gale would respond. ❤️
#I feel so honored that y’all trust me with these serious & thoughful questions and I hope I do them justice#…..but at the same time I always start sweating when I answer them because oh my god have you guys seen the absurd posts I make?!#I am an expert at being a goofball and not much else!#gale dekarios#baldur's gate 3#gale x tav#bg3#acespec#gale of waterdeep

Hot take: this feels very Coalecroux to me (I suggest you listen to the song while reading my rant)
Like, when Kremy first took Gideon in and was still frustrated at the fact that he wouldn't have money to pay Gideon, and in return, has to cook for both of them and pay for Gideon's expenses. Having a big guy like Gideon around him makes some things difficult, like scamming poor suckers or just robbing in general.
Gideon was also sometimes a pain in the ass, Kremy got frustrated at him often.
And then later on, Kremy realized that he's been admiring Gideon from afar, and that results in a small crush that got bigger over time. And with his insecurities, he tries to hide and lie about it (like he does to most things) and pretends that Gideon was just a close friend. So much to the point that he himself started to believe his own lie.
"Gideon was just a friend " He would tell himself, and then wave off those complicated feelings that usual comes around when Gideon is flirting with girls or when the genasi wrap his arm around Kremy's shoulder, insisting on providing warmth for him.
Not until he saw Gideon got married to the pixies.
The wedding was so beautiful, flowers and silky white fabric everywhere. Everyone was dressed up nice and tidy, even Gideon himself was in a suit.
At that moment, he felt like he would never have a chance with the man that had been his best friend and only friend for so long. I mean, the man got married to some beautiful women, not only that they're his type as well.
Kremy couldn't risk their whole relationship for his own gain, for his own selfishness. He cried at the wedding, because it was beautiful, but also a part of him knew that there was another reason why he cried.
That man could never be his. He manipulated him so many times already. He's a horrible person.
And then, one faithful day, Gideon confessed.
Kremy, in disbelief, thought that maybe Gideon is under some kind of curse again. He was a bad person, he knew that about himself. He had manipulate everyone around him, even Gideon himself, just for his own gain.
His lie and feelings ate at him, had been burrowing so deep into his mind that even with Gideon under Suggestion, he still couldn't believe his ears.
Over time, Kremy started to accept that fact that, if he was going to walk through Death's door when his time comes, Gideon will be right beside him, racking some ridiculous joke that always made Kremy smile and laugh.
That Gideon was willing to stay with him, to go through the thick and thin to stay together. Their relationship started off awkward at first, with Kremy not being able to fully comprehend his feelings being out in the open for the first time. But, as per usual, it felt nice to be around the man he loved.
Gideon would confirm it himself that Kremy would be the only man he's willing to die by.

Hi! I hope you had a good new year.
Could you write something about Bucky x bottom male reader?
Mreader is injured on a mission to protect Bucky and Bucky realizes Mreader is more than a co-worker.
Totally cheesy☆*:.。.o(≧▽≦)o.。.:*☆
Aftermath
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Male reader
Summary: Bucky confesses his feelings after a recent mission that left you injured.
A/n: I have some drafts I'm working on, I also deeply apologize for the inconsistent posts. Can't express how happy I get when you guys request some of my favorite characters.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
The world exploded into a symphony of screams and crumbling concrete. Bucky, his metal arm a useless anchor against the force, was thrown like a ragdoll. Desperation clawed at his throat as he reached for his teammate, a figure silhouetted against the inferno. His fingers barely brushed against the leather strap of the other man's chest harness before he was flung into the abyss.
Their eyes met for a fleeting, agonizing moment. Terror, raw and primal, mirrored in the other man's gaze. Bucky cursed himself, the echo of his teammate's warnings ringing in his ears. If he hadn't barged in, hadn't ignored the warnings, this wouldn't have happened. The other man wouldn't be dangling precariously, his shoulder dislocated, ribs likely shattered, all because Bucky had been reckless.
Bucky strained against the wind, his metal arm digging into the crumbling support beam, trying to haul the other man to safety. But it was futile. The weight, the distance, the searing pain in his own battered body – it was too much.
"Let go, Bucky!" The words were a desperate plea, laced with fear. He knew the chances of survival were slim, the frigid water below a potential death sentence. "Let go!" he roared, the sound swallowed by the chaos.
Bucky hesitated, his gaze flickering between the terrified face below him and the churning depths. His fingers, trembling with exhaustion and fear, slowly loosened their grip. "Shit, shit!" he choked out, the word swallowed by the wind. He watched in horror as his teammate plummeted into the abyss, disappearing beneath the swirling debris.
The icy water enveloped him, a suffocating embrace. Pain, a searing, agonizing fire, erupted throughout his body. He thrashed, desperate to reach the surface, but his limbs felt heavy, leaden. The last image seared into his memory was the swirling water, the debris raining down around him, and then… nothing.
Days blurred into an agonizing haze. Bucky paced the sterile confines of the hospital room, a caged animal. Steve had tried to coax him away, to remind him that rest was crucial, that the doctors would call when his teammate woke up. But Bucky couldn't leave. The image of those terrified eyes, the echo of that desperate plea, haunted him relentlessly.
Then, a plastic cup sailed through the air, interrupting his tormented thoughts. He looked up to see his teammate, eyes half-lidded, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
"Thought super soldiers didn't cry," he teased, a hint of pain in his voice. "Miss me, big guy?"
Tears welled up in Bucky's eyes. He gently pulled himself onto the bed, careful not to jar his teammate's injuries. "You're joking right now?" he choked out, burying his face in the other man's chest.
A hand, surprisingly strong, slipped into his hair. "Can't always be serious, Bucky," he murmured.
They stayed like that for a long time, Bucky clinging to his teammate, apologizing profusely. "I'm so sorry," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I was reckless, I didn't listen… I almost lost you." Bucky cried. “I love you.”
It took a moment for the words to sink in. Then, a slow smile spread across the other man's face. "I love you too, Bucky."
The words were simple, yet they held the weight of a lifetime. Bucky, finally able to breathe, held him tighter, the fear and guilt that had consumed him beginning to slowly recede. He had almost lost him, but he had him back.

in the middle ᯓᡣ𐭩 colby brock & sam golbach one-shot
pairing : boyfriend!sam golbach x doberman!reader x colby brock
summary : colby expected this conversation to go way worse than it actually did
warning/extra tid-bits : no warnings but a disclaimer that this fic is about POLYAMORYYYY!! and just bc sam and colby are dating dobie that does NOT mean they’re dating each other <3
word count : 1,070
divider credit : pics from pinterest ,, dividers by @fleurwy
Nobody was mad. Which was interesting because this seemed like the perfect opportunity for fists to fly.
Two best friends in love with the same girl, a trope so common that Dobie refused to watch any movie or read any book that contained it. Yet, here she was. In the middle of Sam and Colby’s kitchen, leaning against the counter with both boys standing on either side of her- directly facing each other.
“We can figure this out.” Sam, her boyfriend, said adamantly. It was cute and Dobie hoped it was true because she would not be the reason Sam and Colby’s career fell apart.
It was either Sam and Colby stayed together, or she left. Dobie decided that the moment that the boys told her of Colby’s feelings for her.
Dobie’s arms were crossed over her chest protectively, trying to hide the fact she was nervous. If Sam knew she was nervous, he’d be neurotic. If Colby knew Sam and Dobie were nervous, he’d be petrified.
She watched as the two best friends spoke calmly to one another, Colby explaining how he came to realize his feelings for Dobie while also explaining the guilt that weighed heavy on his shoulders for falling for his best friend’s girlfriend.
Dobie would have been lying if she said she wasn’t at least a bit flattered that both boys seemed to have grown absolutely infatuated by her.
“And I know- trust me, I know this is the shittiest thing I could do to you- to both of you.” Colby confessed, his blue eyes turning misty. Dobie frowned; she hated when her friends cried.
Mostly because she didn’t want her friends feeling any sort of negative emotion, but also partly because she’d always seemed to lack in the whole “comforting” department. It’s not that she didn’t try, it’s just that her way of comforting included cracking jokes- which wasn’t always appropriate.
“You could’ve murdered us, that’d be way shittier than this.” Dobie joked, making Sam and Colby turn to her with concerned expressions.
See, not always appropriate.
“Sorry, bad joke.” Dobie chuckled, looking down at her combat boots before looking up and sighing- placing her hands on her hips.
“Look I…” She racked her brain for what she could possibly say to make this better. To smooth over this hurdle and just, continue on.
“I’m not mad at you, Colby.” She started, looking towards the brunette man. Dobie’s eyes trailed over to her blonde boy, “You two are best friends, I’m not- I won’t come between that.” Her words were firm; holding no room for argument.
If this were any other situation, Sam would’ve found it hot.
Dobie’s foot tapped against the kitchen tile and Colby felt ashamed at how his heart matched the beat of the thumps. “Please, not even demons could come between us.” Colby said, an attempt to lighten the mood.
The quirk of Sam’s lips told him he was successful. Dobie dipped her head down as she laughed, the corners of her eyes wrinkling.
The three stayed silent for awhile, waiting for someone- anyone to come up with a solution for this mess they were in. It was obvious that nobody had one, yet they all trusted each other enough to rely on each other for one.
Dobie’s eyes widened. They all trusted each other.
“The three of us.” She spoke up, pushing herself off from the counter and allowing a smile to infect her face. Colby and Sam’s brows knit together, “What?” Sam asked- Colby nodded along, equally as confused.
“I mean- it’s the best idea we’ve had so far.” Dobie shrugged happily, looking between the two men. “Dobie, what idea?” The brunette asked, it took everything in him not to smile at how relieved Dobie seemed.
“D’you guys remember that story I told you two, when we visited the conjuring house- the first time?” Dobie asked, looking between both men swiftly. Colby thought for a moment, “About the time you almost hooked up with-”
“No, Colby, the other one.” Dobie’s tone was one of playful annoyance, which made Sam stifle a laugh. Both men thought quietly before Sam spoke up, “About your girlfriends in high school?” He asked- head tilted in a way that made the top of his hair flop over ever so slightly.
Dobie nodded, walking over to her boyfriend and snaking her arm around his shoulder- “Exactly!” She called out, smiling brightly.
“I’m confused.” Colby said honestly, Sam nodded. Dobie sighed, dropping her hold on Sam and walking over to the brunette boy. Dobie grabbed Colby’s hands and gently tugged him over to Sam’s side of the kitchen, once there she grabbed Sam’s hand with hers.
Colby’s hand in her left, Sam’s in her right.
“I’m okay with having multiple partners.” She spoke slowly, knowing for some people it was a complete turn-off. However, she trusted these boys to listen and not judge.
Sam was quiet, thinking deeply about her proposal. Colby spoke first, “I’m not dating Sam.”
Dobie and Colby laughed at Sam’s joke-hurt expression, “Well good news, dingus, that’s not how all polycules work.” Dobie informed.
“I can date both of you, without you two dating each other.” She added, Colby thought for a moment.
Could he really do that? Could he really just…share a girlfriend?
“I mean, we already share a channel.” Sam
joked, making Dobie throw her head back with laughter. “And a house.” He added- this time making Colby laugh.
Colby supposed both things were true, he’d trusted Sam with his career, his living space, and even his life at times.
If there was anyone Colby trusted being in a polycule with, it would be Sam and Dobie.
“I..” Colby shook his head, this was not the direction he expected this conversation to take. “Okay, fuck it.” He shrugged, laughing as he looked between Sam and Dobie.
Sam laughed, leaning into Dobie’s side- relieved that the three were able to come to a conclusion that didn’t involve the end of Sam & Colby.
The three were exactly sure how this would play out, but the three trusted each other and that’s what mattered.
Later, when Colby turned on Dobie’s favorite movie he couldn’t help but smile as Dobie curled into his side. Surprisingly, he found he didn’t mind when Sam curled up into Dobie’s side- a bucket of popcorn on his lap.
Dobie found she didn’t mind being in the middle.

Sweaty, breathless. With a knot painfully tightening in your stomach. With an unrested mind, thoughts colliding with one another and blurring together. Was it the weight of your new function? Was it the memories of your own school years? The taunts, the whispers, the isolation - all of it suddenly felt too close, like it had never really left. But you shook your head, forcing yourself to breathe. In and out.
You were safe now—or so you told yourself. On the other side. Teaching, not being taught.
A bottle of water, your beloved quill, some chocolate, books. You nervously clutched your most needed belongings with trembling hands. You hurriedly skipped up the stairs towards your newly assigned classroom keeping your things close to your torso.
As you were approaching the top of the staircase you were greeted with a small smile from a man walking downstairs. One that you couldn’t help but return despite the tightness in your chest. A fellow professor – judging by the look of his robe. He was wearing a sweater that at first sight seemed just as soft as his gaze. His soft facial expression and scent briefly shook you from your overwhelming thoughts.
“Good morning.” he said calmly. You stopped in your tracks.
“I feel like we know each other,” you said hesitantly, forcing yourself to hold his gaze. “Y/N Y/L/N.”
He nodded gently, with a spark of recognition behind his ocean blue eyes.
“Hmmm we do… it’s been so long. Good to see a familiar face. Remus. Remus Lupin.”
“It really has been. Nice to see you too,” you replied, a weird sense of relief creeping in.
Remus Lupin. Of course you remembered him. He had been a well-seasoned fifth year student by the time you had started your first term at Hogwarts. Though you’d never really spoken directly, you were aware of him. Your paths crossed briefly when you were a prefect for Ravenclaw at a time of his own prefect duties for Gryffindor.
You loved being a prefect, it had been a rare reprieve. It gave you an excuse to roam around the castle, to lose yourself in the beauty of it. While many younglings found the darkness of Hogwarts unsettling, to you it was a genuine comfort, a place where you could gather your racing thoughts in peace.
“I’m sure we will see each other more often. My class is just around the corner. If you need anything dear you know where to find me.” He tilted his head in the direction of the stairs.
“Now if you’ll excuse me ma’am! I have to sign some documents at Mrs. McGonagall’s office. We shall see each other later?”
“Certainly. See you later Remus.”
It was hard not to admit that his warm welcome caught you off guard. What surprised you was that, despite having barely interacted in the past, he seemed to hold some sense of fondness towards you. Regardless, his gesture was undeniably kind.
-
You and Professor Burbage sat side by side, your mugs of coffee warming your hands as you exchanged stories about the last week’s antics from your lessons.
“…and then he- “you began, only to be interrupted by a familiar warmth on your shoulder.
“And who is that?” a familiar voice teased from behind.
Remus peeked between you and Professor Burbage with his very own cup of coffee.
“Good evening, Remmy. Please have a seat!”
“May I?” he asked without really waiting for an answer before pulling up a chair.
As Remus sat down, his knee brushed yours briefly under the table.
“You’re like two peas in a pod these days,” Burbage commented, her eyes darting between you with a knowing grin.
“What can I say dear Charity…?” Remus began, his tone mockingly serious.
“You have to have somebody to complain to when you’re marking awfully written papers.” You finished for him.
“Exactly. Out of respect for our sanity, of course.”
“Oh, is that what they’re calling it these days?” she asked.
Remus raised an eyebrow, but his smirk gave him away. “Yes, that’s precisely what we’re calling it. Survival through shared suffering.”
“Mhmm, shared suffering,” Charity said under her breath before taking a long sip of her coffee. She glanced at her watch.
“Well well I’d love to banter with you for a little longer but some of us have lessons to prepare for. Good night,” she said, slowly rising from her seat. She gently smoothed out her robe.
“Goodnight, Charity,” you said, trying to ignore the subtle heat spreading through your cheeks.
-
You were moving rice from one edge of your plate to another, trying to make it vanish with your sight.
“You’re awfully quiet today,” Remus said, breaking the silence.
Forcing a smile, you replied, “It’s nothing, just tired.” He gave you an attentive look and nodded slowly.
“Dearie if you need to talk, you know I’m here,” he said gently.
„I know, thank you…”
Your rational side begged you to stop, to bury the feelings before they ruined what you had. But your heart had other ideas. It kept slowly but surely tearing you apart with unrelenting tension, increasing with every single one of Remus’ gestures, remarks.
His hand had barely brushed against yours, and it was enough to fuel the ache in your chest. You wanted to lean into the warmth he offered, wanted to let the comfort of his company wrap around you like a blanket, but you simply couldn’t.
You could feel the weight of his gaze on you. You needed to leave. Needed some space.
“I... I must…go set up the classroom.” You said firmly getting up from your warmed up seat.
As you stepped into the hallway the cold air hit your face, making you more focused on your breathing. The feeling was sort of like the one on your first day teaching. Except this time you were walking away from him, the one person who had brought you so much comfort. With each step, you couldn’t shake the feeling that you were letting something so important slip right through your fingers.
You slammed the door behind you, taking out your anger on the object. You couldn’t help but cry it all out. You slid down to the floor and buried your face between your knees.
Remus couldn’t stand it any longer. He set down his mug with a thud and followed you.
He hesitated for a moment, but the instinct to check on you was stronger than the quiet voice in his head telling him to stay away. Gently pushing the door open, he found you, sitting on the cold stone floor next to it.
He sat down beside you without a word. The silence was growing thicker if that was even possible.
“I don’t deserve this Y/N…” he whispered, his voice trembling.
“You are right…you don’t deserve such treatment, “ you whispered back.
“I... I don’t know what’s happening anymore, Remus,” you choked out, your shoulders shaking. “Everything feels like it's falling apart, and I can’t keep pretending it’s fine.”
“That is not what I meant love.” He locked his gaze with yours, eyes glistening in the warm sunlight. He took a deep breath.
“I don’t deserve someone like you. I’ve spent so long convincing myself that I shouldn’t get close to anyone, and yet… here you are. Without even trying, you’ve become everything to me.” His voice wavered.
“You’ve brought light into places I thought would stay dark forever.”
“I’ve hidden from who I really am… from what I’ve been through. I convinced myself that I wasn’t worthy of any of the good things, especially not you.” His words made your chest tighten.
“But you are worthy, Remus. You’re the most caring person I know. I wouldn’t have survived being here if it wasn’t for your constant support. I owe you the beginning of this chapter of my life.”
He looked down, his voice quiet as he murmured, “I don’t know how to accept that. I don’t know how to feel like I’m enough for you.”
“Please don’t say that.”
“I have to be honest with you, Remus. I don’t know how to just be your friend anymore. I’ve tried, but I can’t keep pretending I don’t feel the way I do.” Your voice cracked, and you turned away, wrapping your arms around yourself.
“I never thought… I never dared to believe you could feel the same,”
“I’ve spent so much time telling myself you were out of reach,” he continued.
He paused, his hand hovering uncertainly before finally brushing gently against your cheek, as if afraid you might pull away. “I need to say this, Y/N. It’s been eating at me for weeks now, and I can’t keep pretending it’s not there.”
“I think I’m in love with you.”
You turned to face him. More tears welled up in your eyes. But this time they were happy tears.
Without thinking, you closed the space between you, wrapping your arms tightly around him. His embrace was immediate.
“I’ve tried to ignore it... but the more I’m with you, the more it’s hard to deny. I love you too,” you murmured into his chest, your voice muffled. “I’ve loved you for so long.”
As he held you close, the world felt like it had finally righted itself.
You soaked in the relief. And the warmth that seemed like it was completely out of your reach just seconds ago.
You stayed intertwined for a while, slowly digesting the good and the bad. Giving yourself space to let everything sink in.
But then, as the two of you sat there in silence for a while, Remus shifted slightly and let out a soft chuckle.
“You know,”
“as romantic as this moment is, my buttocks are absolutely freezing.” You couldn’t help but laugh through the remains of your tears.
“Oh, so now you’re saying my breakdown spot isn’t up to your standards?” you teased, pulling back just enough to see his face, which was now decorated with a playful smirk.
“I’m just saying, if we’re going to spend the night clinging to each other and crying some more maybe we could do it somewhere else. My butt’s about to become part of the stonework here… have some mercy for an old man.”
“I will as long as I am allowed to call you my old man.”
“I suppose I could let you get away with that... but only because I’m feeling generous.” Remus grinned, planting a kiss on your forehead.
Thank you for reading! Stay whelmed xx

hi! I finished northanger abbey and do I have thoughts! I really liked it, I'd give it a solid 8.5!
you were right, catherine being a teen girl is relatable, but actually the most "relatable" character I think, is isabella. i genuinely gasped almost every time she spoke because I've met a few isabellas and austen really put it on page. every now and then I almost expected her to say "omg stop teasing meee" or steal James hat/hoodie. she gives me that *friend who leaves you alone at the club while you're drunk to flirt with some rando" vibes. kinda sad because at first she did seem a lesbian in love with catherine.
and john thorphe!! I'll admit he did scare me a bit a few times, him grabbing catherines arm to stop her from exiting the carriage was so creepy. and just like.. him trying so bad to remove her agency and turn her into his little doll. both of them are worse than wickham to me. not necessarily because of actions but like.. they just feel like people who'd be easier to meet irl if that makes sense?
i loved henry tilney so much, you low-key spilled when you said he was the best austen man, im sure. but i will forever be upset that austen didn't delve into his love confession/proposal like whyy.
but God did I love how foils are in this book, with the tilneys opposing the thorphes when it comes to relationships with catherine. her true soulmates!
honestly I kinda wished I'd read this one in my language because perhaps I would have understood the whole subtext re: general tilney better. but I did understand everything so it's fine.
also I have to defend my girl and say she's actually incredibly emotionally smart, she clocks the general and even isabella, she's just in denial for a good while, and james (way more experienced) is led on more than her so im annoyed by the dumb allegations i saw. she's 17 in 1800s leave her alone!
and I love eleanor obv!
alsoo this is kinda off topic but i soo think modern!henry would be a fashion student and modern!catherine would LOVE lisa frankestein! i just know she would. nd it would hit as a concept !
all this to say I really liked it, I'll start with sense and sensibility next! so excited cause I know it's about two sisters so it'll be like getting a book with jane and elizabeth pov! ty btw! your advice was spot on!
Firstly, congratulations on reading Northanger Abbey in your second language! That is impressive. And I'm so happy to hear you loved it.
Secondly, I totally agree about the Thorpes. They really feel like people you could meet today and both of them are so slimy. I think they inspire more genuine feelings of disgust than a more over-the-top villain like Wickham or Willoughby. And they are great foils for the Tilneys, all talk and no substance. The Tilneys are the real, genuine friends that Catherine will value forever.
Catherine does have good instincts. I really think the point is that she identified the evil in General Tilney, she just went a bit far with how that evil would express itself. Some people hate her and call her stupid, but I never would. She mostly got it right.
I hope you enjoy Sense & Sensibility just as much! Report back if you want.

Taking my (foot taller than me) pet puppytwink cissoid’s anal virginity cause he begged me, only for him to say “god im such a FAGGOT slut, what would my father think…?” as I’m fucking his ass (so good that he shot cum on his own mouth) (twice), seeing the fear in his eyes as I threaten to rip his pretty deer throat out and suck out his blood, followed by him worshipping my hairy thighs with his tongue as he thanks me for fucking him til he went dumb and drooly was actually the cure to my dysphoria all along
(after this he immediately comes out to his whole family as a faggot and gives me his fucking Xbox 🤭) #winning
(Sappy shit under the cut.)
ok but I’m gonna get a little sincere on the horny blog…
He also just, loves me. And just so happens to have *also* loved me as my weird girl self in middle school. To make a long, beautiful, complicated story short… we met as kids in school, and bonded because we both liked furries and FNAF. He got me chocolates for Christmas in sixth grade, and after some hmming and hawing, I found myself helplessly adoring his quirky, dainty, gentlemanly self, too. He thought I was cool and loved me best he could with his young little heart. He showed me his Undertale game on one of our dates to his house and we played and laughed and had so much fun. But I was trapped in a shitty home full of surveillance (cameras, monitoring, sexual shame, control, and the standard queerphobia). A culture that made me feel ashamed to be myself. It hurt me bad and twisted me into someone I’m not proud of being.
When he asked to kiss me… I said no.
I felt so ashamed of myself and disgusted at my desires.
I broke his heart shortly after, I couldn’t take the shame. Both of us went on to go through relationship hell for eight years.
I was terribly cruel to him in high school because of telephone game drama. I believed I was doing the “right thing” by spreading the rumors. I thought I was being so righteous and good, but sometimes that hurts people way worse than you can even fathom. Autistic people and those raised into white womanhood, heed my warning…
Both at our lowest, both off the tail ends of messy, messy shit, both desperate scared and longing, horny, sad and… after playing secret horny tag in DMs for years… (my friends hated him because of the drama)
I say fuck it, wyd?
I tell him outright. “I’m not here to love you. But I’m here to show you a good time tonight.”
After. he thanked me, said he felt like he could actually touch the world and impact it.
I have him come back the next night…
We watch fight club… we talk about masculinity, philosophy, spirituality, existential fear, what it means to us… he cuddles me and we dig deep.
I tell him I’m not here to love him but… I think I need him in my life right now.
I started to feel understood by another man… who desired me…? A cis one? Even if he does have chest scars from his ribcage surgery that closely resemble top surgery scars… what a coincidence…
He shows me Berserk. He spends the night. We talk, and laugh, and fuck, and stay up til the wee hours of morning cuddling and chatting and both start to notice what the hell is going on. Someone, save us now… it’s happening… it’s happening and neither of us are wanting to stop it… fuck!
I told him. I give up. I love you! I am delighted at the person that you are! I missed you so badly! Eight years collapsed into nothing the moment we could melt into each other’s arms.
“I love you too.”
He asked me to fight on that fourth day. My blood went cold, because I was so desperate to ask myself, but he was the only one with the courage. We threw fists and I gave him the prettiest black eye. He marked my face and bruised my body. That was 11/11/24.
I was never the same.
I had to confess to my friends that I fell in love. I shook and cried and was so scared. This had to happen. I’m fighting for what I need. Some got mad, some got confused, all of them not pleased with me. But… they turned around. I turned on the charm and said, fuck it, I’m gonna be happy. I told them all about the person he was. I walked back the rumor and gave it context. I wanted to clear this beautiful man’s name, because it’s a name I only feel love for.
I left my toxic girlfriend of three years who didn’t know how to love me. I forgive her. But that needed a wake up call. He saved me, not by fixing it, not by asking me to leave her, but by showing me a world I deserved that I didn’t think was even real. I left to pursue a happy life. He showed me conflict is a tool, passion doesn’t have to come at a cost, and difference is a strength. He showed me stillness and peace and exuberance and freedom. He showed me how to accept my whole self. I showed him how to love his.
My angriest friend eventually asked me how to open in her first DM to him (“I can’t believe you did it, but you made me a fan. I’d love to be his friend”).
We had dinner together (she practically chased us down!) and it was a beautiful full circle moment. We were all in the same class together years ago.
We shared family Christmas this year, I clicked with his parents completely (“hey, remember me…?”) and finally, I felt like I didn’t need to doubt anymore. It’s the real deal, and I pinch myself every single day. I’m blessed, truly.
I showed him Rocky Horror recently. He got it. He loved it. He said he felt it gently take a piece of his negativity, dissolve it, and inspire him to live a freer life. Just like it did for me all those years ago, when my repressed little self found it and fixated on it, not even knowing why. Not understanding I could claim my desires. Not understanding I could choose to be a happy gay man who fucks nasty.
I cried, helplessly. I finally made it, to my gay love and my hopeful queer future full of art and life. I just know little us are so proud. They set us up, after all.
And yeah, I kissed him.
But I didn’t ask.
I love my gay life.
It got better. Hold on, lonely transfags and sad bi boys alike. True love (and fucking til you bleed) awaits you!

you wake up one Saturday morning, the sun casting a warm glow across your shared bedroom. mingi's arm is slung over your waist as he sleeps soundly beside you. you feel his steady breathing against your neck, a comforting presence after the passionate night you two just shared.
your fingers idly trail down his strong back, a content smile playing on your lips as you relish the closeness. he stirs a bit, mumbling something in his sleep, and you can't help but giggle quietly.
mingi begins to wake, blinking his eyes open and squinting at the sunlight spilling onto the bed. when he sees you gazing at him, his face softens into a smile. "morning, love," he murmurs, leaning in for a tender kiss.
the kiss quickly grows more intense, hands roaming and tongues tangling. it doesn't take long before things start to heat up again. mingi's fingers find their way between your legs, stroking your sensitive folds and making you gasp against his mouth.
the passion between you builds, fueled by last night's unspoken desires waiting to ignite anew.
he pushes you back onto the pillow, hovering over you as your legs spread willingly for him. his hot breath fans over your flushed skin as his thumb circles your clit, sending shivers through you.
"you're already wet for me again," he purrs, his voice low and husky.
you nod, your heart pounding in your chest. words escape you in this moment, lost in the haze of desire for this man you love so deeply.
mingi gazes into your eyes, dark irises boring into yours. he leans closer, his lips brushing your ear as he whispers, "tell me what you want, darling."
your breath hitches at the feel of his warm breath on your lobe, a thrill running down your spine. without thinking, the words tumble out:
"i... i want..." you pause, cheeks burning hotter than before.
"say it," mingi urges, his grip on you firm yet gentle. you know he won't judge, only love you more.
a surge of boldness courses through you. "i want..." you trail off, steeling yourself.
"say it, my love," he repeats, his voice so sweet yet commanding. his eyes bore into yours, encouraging you to let go.
"i... i want you to... to spit in my mouth..." you whisper, the confession tasting both exhilarating and taboo on your lips. you hold your breath, unsure how mingi will respond.
to your surprise, he chuckles softly. "is that all you wanted?" he teases, a playful glint dancing in his eyes. without warning, he spits into his palm and rubs it over your lips - a bold, yet tantalizing gesture.
your eyes widen, cheeks flushing crimson. the sensation sends a fresh jolt of excitement through you. you part your lips instinctively, craving more.
mingi seems taken aback for a moment, staring down at you with a mix of shock and fascination. he's never seen this side of you before. but before long, his expression shifts into one of darkened desire.
"you like that, don't you?" he growls, his own need palpable now. he watches you intently as he leans in, his hot, heavy breath washing over you. without hesitation, he spits directly onto your tongue. the salty fluid coats your senses, igniting a fire within you.
this unexpected revelation, this act... it's raw, primal. an unspoken connection between you both deepening further.
you nod frantically, the feeling overwhelming yet incredibly pleasurable. you suck in your bottom lip, tasting him still, wanting more. it seems to spark something primal within mingi as well.
"god, yes..." he groans, his fingers pressing harder against your slick folds as he gazes down at you with newfound fervor.
he pulls back just enough to speak again, voice hoarse. "is this what you needed?"
you manage a weak "yes," your voice barely audible over the pounding of your heart.
mingi smiles, his own hunger reflected in his eyes. he gathers your hair, tilting your head back to expose your neck as he spits again, this time onto your chest, dripping across your skin.
the coolness of his spittle contrasts with the heat building between you, sending shivers through your body once more. your hands reach out to pull him closer, desperate for more contact, more of his unique brand of affection.
"please..." you whisper, not even sure what you're begging for - relief, possession, simply to drown in the intensity.
mingi understands without words, his breath coming in ragged gasps. he lowers himself between your thighs, his gaze never leaving yours as he takes one last look. then, he opens his mouth and lets out a thick glob of saliva that glistens in the sunlight before landing squarely on your sensitive bud.
the sensation is electric, your back arching off the bed at the sudden contact. he watches you intently, his fingers tracing patterns up your inner thighs.
"like that, baby?" he purrs, voice low and taunting. he repeats the action again and again - spitting liberally over your quivering flesh until you're dripping wet with his essence.
your senses are alive, consumed by his overwhelming presence. he dips his head down, tongue lapping up some of his own spittle before settling between your folds. you feel the rough scrape of his tongue against you, the velvety softness as he gathers your slickness on it, then back to spitting again.
it's messy, it's primal, and it's the most exhilarating thing you've ever experienced together. your fingers twist and tug at the sheets in ecstasy, every nerve ending on fire.
mingi's eyes sparkle with delight at your reactions, egged on by your cries and movements. he seems to take pleasure in pushing these boundaries with you, discovering new depths of intimacy.
he lifts his gaze back up to meet yours, holding it steadfastly as he spits directly onto your hardened peak once more. his hot, wet breath fans out over your pulsing nerves before his lips close around you.
the sensation is divine, the musky taste of him mingling with the raw saltiness on your tongue. he sucks with purposeful intensity, laving and lapping while his fingers dance across your hips and thighs - all the while periodically interrupting with another spurt of his warm, viscous fluid.
your hips buck wildly beneath him, lost in the intoxicating rhythm he's set. you feel so alive, consumed by his relentless attentions.
he lifts his head briefly, a trail of his spit stretching from his mouth to you, before he gazes down with a wicked grin. he dips two fingers inside you, curving them to stroke that sweet spot deep within. your heart thuds in sync with the thrusts of his hand as he brings his mouth back down, this time spitting directly onto your clit again and again.
the building pressure within you threatens to overwhelm - the lewd sounds of his actions echoing in the room only heightening your senses. you feel stretched thin by the pleasure, every fiber of your being focused on the exquisite friction.
"mingi...please..." you plead, your voice hoarse, begging for release.
mingi seems determined to push you closer yet. he slips his fingers from you only to replace them with his tongue, lapping fervently while his hands grip your thighs firmly.
"you taste...so good...covered in my spit..." he groans against you, sending vibrations through your core.
the words drive you wild, your body shuddering uncontrollably beneath him. you know your climax is close now, every fiber of your being coiled tight like a wire ready to snap.
he brings his mouth back to your spit-soaked bud, sucking hard while simultaneously spitting once, twice more - the cooling sensation sending you hurtling over the edge.
waves of pure bliss crash through you, your back bowing off the mattress as you cry out his name. he holds you steady through every tremor, lapping up every drop of your essence mingled with his gifts.
when the aftershocks finally subside, you lie there gasping, spent and utterly satisfied. mingi crawls up next to you, kissing your temple tenderly.
"did you like that, my love?" he murmurs against your ear, his own breathing slowly returning to normal.
you nod, still floating in the hazy afterglow. this newfound connection between you has deepened the bond you share even further. you turn to face him, tracing the curve of his jawline with your fingertips.
“can i…” you start hesitantly, eyes locked on his.
mingi understands without words again, sensing your desire to reciprocate. he smiles, a soft yet confident look that makes your heart skip a beat.
"of course, darling..." he purrs, his hands guiding your head towards his lap.
your nerves flutter as you move into position, gazing up at him with a blend of excitement and anticipation. you feel his heartbeat pounding beneath you, a steady rhythm that pulses through his length.
he runs his hands through your hair, gently encouraging you onward. your tongue darts out, tasting the salt on his skin before you take him into your mouth.
it's different this way - bold and intimate. you swirl and explore every ridge and vein, feeling him grow even harder as you do. you crave more - more of him, more of what he's giving you.
your actions become bolder still; you look up defiantly as you take him deeper, the velvety heat of your mouth enveloping every inch. you grasp his thighs for stability, your own hips bucking slightly.
mingi gasps, body tensing under you, then he guides you back onto him with a hoarse whisper: "spit on me, just like that..."
you obey, withdrawing him from between your lips momentarily to spit directly on his tip. the droplets run down his shaft, slick and shining. taking him back into your mouth, you repeat the action again and again - a relentless rhythm interspersed with the hot, wet sounds of your affection.
mingi's fingers tighten in your hair as he watches you lose yourself in this newfound delight. he meets each plunge of your mouth with a roll of his hips, driving deeper but never forcing.
your cheeks hollow as you establish a steady pace that feels almost primal yet incredibly sweet. you relish the control you have over his pleasure, the power dynamics shifting yet complementary.
your own desire builds anew, the friction of your movements against him stoking the flames. hands roaming your back, mingi whispers words of praise that send shivers down your spine: "good girl...take it all..."
you feel his muscles tremble beneath you, the telltale signs he's close - closer than before. you double down on your efforts, wanting to push him over that edge.
you can taste the saltiness of his essence gathering on your tongue, thick and intoxicating. you know it won't be long now. your hands grip tighter, fingers digging into his thighs as you quicken your pace, spitting generously down on him.
mingi's breaths come in ragged gasps, his body taut as steel. suddenly he pulls you away from him with a groan, stopping your movements just as he reaches his peak.
"need...need to be inside you," he manages through gritted teeth, his voice strained yet commanding.
he positions you on your back once more, spreading your legs wide. gazing into your eyes, there's a hunger there that makes your heart thrill. but then he surprises you...
he spits squarely on your entrance, coating your tender flesh with that final, bold act. you feel the warmth seep into you, completing this deeply intimate exchange.
with a low growl, he presses into you in one long, smooth thrust, filling you completely as he begins to move. the sensation is electrifying, every part of you connected.
"yes..." he cries out, hands gripping your hips as he finds a rhythm that speaks of all he's feeling. the sound of his hips slamming against you echoes out the rhythm of your new dance.
the feeling of him claiming you this way - so raw, so intense - intensifies the high. every stroke brings fresh waves of pleasure, his spit acting as a slick, slippery barrier between you both.
your nails rake down his back, the pleasure-pain mingling deliciously. your own hips move in time with his, meeting each pounding snap with fervor.
"more..." you whisper, lost in ecstasy, craving deeper still.
mingi nods, reaching between you both to rub tight circles around your sensitive clit, his thumb slick with the remnants of his spit. the stimulation pushes you closer, every nerve ending alight with sensation.
"let it go, darling. with me," he pleads, voice low and insistent.
your body arches up off the sheets again, every fiber straining toward that precipice. you surrender to the tide crashing through you, the shared release of your essences mingling in the space between you.
it goes on, the aftershocks prolonged by the intensity of this new experience. finally spent, you lay intertwined, gasping and spent, your gazes locked, your breathing gradually returning to normal.
"I love you," mingi murmurs, brushing your cheek with a tender sweetness that balances the intensity of what just occurred.
